Hasn`t she just won either The Guardian or Telegraph Womens SPOTY ?Of all the meaningless subjective awards that get handed out SPOTY is by far the most ridiculous.
Dina Asher-Smith is going to get this one as she ticks 2 boxes; ethnic minority and a woman.
Raheem will have to console himself with all the medals he won last year.

If you have a media push the sky is the limit. He should not be nominated for SPOTY if its just of sporting achievements.

Wouldn't have a problem with Asher-Smith winning it. Wasn't her gold medal the best result for a British sprinter in the world championships for 30 odd years? And she picked up 2 silvers in the other events.
Individuals are always going to have an advantage over team sports, which is why the team award exists.

To be fair he is 3rd favourite to win it according to the bookies. Admittedly he's 14/1 and Ben Stokes is 6 to 1 ON so he's going to have to go some to beat him but still. Got to be worth an each way bet if you can get one.

Really? A Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup, and the highest number of combined goals and assists in Europe? How do you compare an exceptional individual performance in a team sport (Stokes) with a world champion in athletics (Asher-Smith)?
You can't.

She'd get my vote. Awesome achievement. But my beef is with all these subjective awards, from MOTM to SPOTY and everything in between. All bollocks.
