There will be an awful lot of people voting for Sterling both inside and outside the game of football. He has become a role model for the way he has conducted himself with regard to racism and for all he personally went through showing great strength and character along the way. I think he could well end up in the top three.

Of all the meaningless subjective awards that get handed out SPOTY is by far the most ridiculous.

Dina Asher-Smith is going to get this one as she ticks 2 boxes; ethnic minority and a woman.

Raheem will have to console himself with all the medals he won last year.

Raheem ticks one of those boxes and he can't tick the other one....
