Raheem Sterling

What about Gundogans winner against Villa ?
Honestly, the fact I had to Google that goal shows the effect that VAR, PSR, FFP, biased media, biased referees and the 115 charges has had on my interest in the game.
I watched us score the winning goal in the Champions League final to clinch a historic treble and I didn't celebrate it knowing the ball had gone forward to Bernardo near the goal line so would have to be checked ad infinitum for the smallest infringement. I've seen us score multiple perfectly good legal goals against Liverpool and not celebrated as I knew there was a good chance of them being chalked off due to the VAR assistant searching for an excuse to chalk them off.
All of that goes back directly to that goal and the way the 'handball' incident in the same game was dealt with.

In successive seasons he scored 23, 25, 31, 14 and 17 goals.

He wasn't perfect, but let's not do him down unnecessarily. We"re desperate for someone to do those kind of numbers other than Erling right now.

Combined Goals + Assists all comps for each of his 7 seasons:

19
25
37
39
36
24
25

And always available - fantastic injury record.

I see the Stat Police have arrived. You should go and work for the Rags. Apparently they only bought their new goalie because he had the best stats. Some of you probably take heed of XG too ffs.

Sterling was the biggest victim of us changing to the fake 9 system you could see his goals decrease then also pep lost complete trust in him after lyon he was the first name on team sheet before that. I'm shocked he didn't stay when we signed haaland he would have probably would have done well in that time i think he'd struggle in our current set up put he surely can't be worse than doku.

Yeah and you just ignore that during that time he put in many man-of-the-match performances and was electric for majority of the centurion season.

Raheem's figures for City are up there with KDBs. People seem to forget just how good he was for us. We've never actually replaced him.

Doku, Bobb, and Savinho could only dream of his consistency as well.
Maybe but he was 23 before he started. to get those figures and consistency, and had a few seasons behind him

I was a big Raheem fan whilst admitting he was on the decline when he left us. When City are at our best the typical Raheem tap in is the classic goal. If what he did was so easy how come more people haven't done it?

It's because of his T-Rex dribbling style. If he was more graceful with the ball at his feet, he would get more respect and acknowledgement.

A fair few blues I know don't/didn't rate Raheem and I've always argued that it's ridiculous really. His stats on goal involvement are fantastic, as were both his defensive work and injury record.

Yes, he had a howler or two (Lyon!!!) but despite that he was undoubtedly a huge success whilst wearing the blue of City. He relentlessly made run after run into dangerous areas and played right into the hands of our creative players like Silva or KDB with many chances coming via that avenue.

Don't get me wrong though. He was on the decline and I imagine his opinion of himself and his role in the team as a key player differed to that of Pep and a parting of the ways was the correct decision, especially with his wages.

We signed him for circa 50 million, as a prosperous young talent, from Liverpool which pissed them off no end!! He had a fantastic 7 or so seasons with us and we sold him for circa 50 million.

Undoubtedly, a huge success of a signing in my book and he deserves respect and admiration off every blue in my opinion.

I'm sure Savinho would give anything to have the career Raheem has had.
