Random City Players

Also he was on songs of my years this week on radio 2 with Ken Bruce sounds like a top bloke and family man. .
Heard some of that on the radio whilst flicking through the channels in the car.
He always does seem to come across as a decent, intelligent . He can get very 'emotional' in interviews can't he, but seems more genuine than a lot of managers who seem to give a lot of standard, cliche answers and analysis.
O'Neill only played for us 13 times apparently (just checked) but didn't actually seem to play too many games for anyone apart from Forest.

Tim Flowers is always the first person I think of when I see posts like this.
Talking of goalkeepers, Paul Cooper always seemed between the sticks for Ipswich Town for years (including the semi final in 81 at Villa Park when we beat them)
He was with us late 80s for a bit, don't think he played too many though.Pretty sure that he was In goal for the Promotion game at Bradford, and defo was for the 5:1, probably (along with the 10:1) the most memorable City matches of that era.

Or what about Sammy McIlroy?

Looks good in blue, eh?

;-)

One of my greatest achievements as a Citeh fan is seeing him and Steve Daley actually score for us. Honest to God, they did!

Er; not in the same game, obviously!
That’s nothing; I actually saw Adrian Heath score.

In the first home game of the 90/91 season, against Everton. It was also my first ever game at Maine Road.

One of a pathetic return of six goals in 88 games for the Blues.

Daniel van Buyten played 5 games then cleared off after being robbed by his bankers . Also involved were Belmadi and Vuoso according to Wikipedia
It was years later they got robbed. Basically left shit loads of money in bank accounts and left the country. Obviously people new it was just sat there and couldn't help themselves...

Lee Peacock.

I think he was signed from Bristol City during the '99/'00 season, but didn’t play very many games nor hang around very long.

Nery Castillo. Was actually buzzing when we signed him too.
Didnt he even pay some of his loan fee to come here? Had transferred somewhere for big money not too long before his short disappointing spell with us. Also remember looking forward to seeing him play for us, but after seeing him play looked forward to him leaving.
