They're screwed financially. Barclays bank (who hold their debt) were believed to be calling the shots at one point. They were restricted to loans and free transfers for quite a while. Not sure if things have improved now though...
Very similar to how Liverpool might go in the next few months if Hicks/Gillette don't find a buyer, and United too in a few years if they don't find a way of restructuring/paying off thier loans.

OK Ric has given me the all clear.
Every player for Rangers is up for sale.
They've been setting up businesses off shore to pay players into. But the stupid fuckers own the businesses so it's conflict of interest. They owe millions in tax and can't pay it because they are skint.
They got a top accountant in to have a look at the books and tell them the damage. The answer was "You're fucked and need to pay every penny" so what did they do.....sacked him because it wasn't the answer they wanted and hired someone else to lie to them and tell them it would be ok
