Rat invasion

I go work early you see them scurrying about Deansgate and Market St regular.
Is that story about the long tails years ago actually true. That they made their way down Market St and dived in the River Irwell or is that a myth?

I used to work in a warehouse out of town in last century. It was overun with interbred feral cats but the original mother was friendly. Would often come in the office for a warm. I remember stooping to stroke her one day only to see two legs and tail hanging from her mouth. Couldn't believe she could swallow something that big in one hit.

I was out on the piss a few weeks ago. Went in a bar and one nonchalantly scuttled across the floor and into the toilet area. I was disgusted. Then a minute later, another scuttled past making this strange high pitched whine. I thought fuck this and left immediately. On my way out I seen about 10 of the bastards scurrying along the path coming towards me. That was enough for me, I headed straight to train station and went home. I'm not going to Liverpool on the piss ever again :(

Brough back a memory of an old office the family used to have. It was an old police station on northumberland road in old trafford.
It was riddled with mice n rats and no amount of pest control even scratched the surface.
A farmer advised us to get 2 cats and almost turn them feral , like they do on farms, so we got 2 cats that i called uwe and rosler.

They lived in the office, we fed them minimally as the farmer advised and we would just see them coming and going and eventually just lived out side.
The rat population dropped dramatically.

Uwe in time disappeared and we would see less n less of rosler , though we knew he was around.
After not seeing rosler for 2 months i was stood outside early one evening and i heard some rustling n the bushes , and out walked this fuckin thing!! Rosler!!! He was the biggest muscliest car ive ever seen. I bent down to say hello and he basically growled in my face and went for me!! Feral, wild, well fed, hard as fook. Well fed on rats

I think there has been an increase in numbers don't know if it is a lack of pest control funding, climate change, mild winters the availability of food from our take away fast food culture culture. As someone who cycles a lot there seems to have been a huge increase in urban environments over the last few years.
