We are supposed to be an attacking, set up in the opposition's half, possession based team. Slow build up play, keep the ball, be patient, find the gaps.
Yet we bought three players who don't keep the ball well enough and don't particularly fit into that style of play at all in Delph, de Bruyne and Sterling.
Three decent players (maybe not Sterling yet but he might get there) but they look like they've been thrown in a transfer panic just because we couldn't get our first choices.
Talk about three players who couldn't be more suited to counter-attack play if you tried yet we hardly ever play on the counter.
Nothing particularly against them as individual players - well, I tell I lie because de Bruyne has been poor away from home and Sterling's first touch and passing can be dreadful - but they just aren't our kind of players.
If we've bought them, why don't we play some tactics to at least suit their style of play?
When we do have moments where we go on the counter-attack, take a good look at de Bruyne - he comes alive. Look at him when we're fucking about boring everyone to death with sideways passes and he looks like the fans in the stands - bored!
