Not bad for the Champions League, more than likely gone out to the eventual winners and the performances against them weren't too bad although we were battered at the Nou Camp with only Joe keeping it 1-0, but the home game was promising.

The FA Cup was a big disappointment in my eyes, yes Middlesborough were up for the game but its not like we fielded a 2nd XI, should've at least got to the semi's with the teams that were left in it. The same with the Capital One cup really, Pardew fielded a young side, most likely in anticipation of a defeat and again we had a good team out.

The Premier League was more frustrating than anything, it seemed after Christmas it was going to be a very close finish having won 10 on the bounce, but again City found a way to fuck it up and then come good again when it didn't matter anymore.

For 'Others' I've been very disappointed as well, tactically for most of the season MP has been poor, tactical errors that have been repeated time and again (Toure). Not one young player was given a chance, not even in the domestic cups in which they went out to lesser teams anyway.

end of term report ...........plenty of effot and ability , but leadership has been lacking both on and off the field , but poor recruitment due to FFP restrictions have been the main reason for a largely disappointing season

Don't like to commit but 6 is too snide and 8 is too sparkly.

I'd say a 6 is about fair. Finishing second is not a bad achievement but very disappointed in how we performed in the domestic cups and once again we were piss poor in the CL and only have Hart to thank for not getting embarrassed on the global stage.

In terms of personnel I think Aguero, Hart, Dinho and Silva can hold their heads up high while others need to seriously improve next season if they are still here. Pellegrini has been poor as well and I don't think good run against weaker teams at the end of the season should paper over that but thats a discussion for another thread.

Domestic Cups awful. Losing to middlesbrough and a second rate newcastle, as title winning team. 1/10 Unacceptable
Europe Throwing losing to CSKA Moscow, and collapse that would make gerrard proud. Atleast the got through the group stages 5/10
BPL 6.5/10 Apart from that rough patch around Jan, been alreet did really well up to Jan. No shame in coming second.

Can I ask if it's 4 how about when we finished 5th in 2010? Or the season with Pearce when we didn't score at home for 4 months? Or when we got relegated in 83, or 87 or 96 or 98?

The season has to be rated in context. If we had finished 2nd with the squad Pearce had, it would have been a fantastic achievement. We have a much better squad than those days and as such expectations are and should be higher.
