Rate The Season

For a club of our stature,at the point of our development,the season can only be described as frustrating and disappointing and our 6 wins has only papered over some very obvious cracks that will have to be corrected if we are to put in a real challenge for the title and cups next season. It will not go down well with some on here but we've gone backwards by more than just one league place !!

The Charity Shield was a foretaste of much of what was to follow. Indecisive,muddled management by Manuel Pellegrini. Apathetic,uncommitted performances by too many players...think Stoke at home. Defence of the League cup over by Autumn...well beaten by Newcastle shadow squad. FA Cup over in two games well beaten by Boro after scraping through agin Wednesday. Title challenge over before spring,complacently losing points to all the relegated sides Local pride lost with a shameful capitulation at rag land...unforgivable !!

Some real high points,Munich,Rome and 'er........Mackams,Saints & Stoke away !!

Much work to do in the summer irrespective of who goes,stays or comes. And the biggest change has to be in attitude,mentality,professional pride etc from top to bottom. We've lost that 'fight' never mind 'to the end'intensity and there's been little evidence of #Together.

agreed but if you include the yoof and women's team its a 6 and towards the end manuel finally got it next time we need to be really more decisive about tactics players substitutions and corners if we had scores a single goal in 6% of all our conners we'd be champs So repeat after me Pelli

The best way to measure this season is to remember your expectations on the opening day.

Whilst placing whatever figure on assessing our overall performance this season is wholly subjective, this is the key. Whilst a 4 rating is not utterly shit - it's a below par rating for what was a below par campaign compared against what we could reasonably have expected at the start of the season - which was to genuinely compete in all 4 competitions that we were in. And we didn't. Neither did we play with the consistency that we should have done when it comes to the playing style - verve, tenacity, pace, mobility, energy. Sometimes present, but all too often missing.

I've seen a fair amount of the games at The Minihad as well so I'm going 8.59. Anybody struggling with two decimal places?

If Pee-arse had produced a season like this last one, we'd be giving it a gazillion out of ten.

We got 10 out of 10 with Agueroooooooooooooooooooooooooo, and no season till the end of time will come near!
