What's the issue?

Various really.

1) The "Yes he looked good but how will he cope on a wet winter Monday night in Stoke" brigade.

2) The "Yes he looked good; what's he doing at a shitty little no-mark club with no history" brigade

3) The "Carroll/Suarez are much better" brigade.

4) The "He's only playing for them because we won't pay daft wages" brigade (ignoring the fact their wage bill in the last accounts was only £10m less than ours).

5) The "He should be playing for us because he's a lifelong Liverpool fan" brigade

6) The "Carroll's a better buy because over 5 years he'll cost us a lot less because we're paying him less" brigade.

Etc.

Apart from them (about 90% of RAWK) they're being very fair.

To be honest, I've seen quite a few of those type posts regarding Messi succeeding over here.

Generally, football forums are the same everywhere.

To be honest, Redcafe and RAWK is full of fucking whompers who have probably never been to see "their" respective teams. Liverpool have this delusion of grandeur carry over that seems to be timeless, whilst the other lot just get people that were born in the 90's and like winning.

It seems like a lifetime ago that stuff like this actually used to wind me up. I've long since gone past even apathy and into relishing it now, the taste of other fan's tears is addictive. I guess you missed the posts after his 2nd goal.

I read them all. Yes they were impressed with the goal but there were a lot on there who came out with some variation of one of the above. and there was a general air of (2); that somehow we weren't entitled to a player like that but they (despite having won nothing for 6 years) were.
