Ignore this whopper, he's complaining about ait nouri, complaining about cherki, probably complaining about reijnders. Some people are never happy
That’s like me calling you a whopper for being delighted about Reijnders, delighted about cherki, delighted about Ait nouri!

I’m sure you’ll be delighted about whoever next. Get some perspective.

All players have strengths and weakness.

Ait Nouri I think is a decent addition, as too Reijnders.

Cherki I have grave doubts

anyone worried about his defending? Wolves fans not convinced about his ability to defend in a back 4, even though they adore him and consider him leaving to be more devastating than Cunha to the rags.

No, I'd rather leave it to the hands of the professionals (our scouting team) and see how they play in our system after being coached under pep.

not really, we have a number of systems to cover that if we want too but doubt it amounts to much.

Considering you have Diogo Dalot who is useless as "the best defensively" I would say that there is some obvious flaws to the metrics you are using to determine if someone is good defensively.
I explained the stats i based it on. High rates of tackles coupled with low rates of getting skinned, per 90 minutes. Dalot, Mitchell and Udogie were the only ones with better stats in that narrow context So as a 1 v 1 defender, Rayan, was part of the cream of that class last season.

The point isn't that Dalot is good ( even though he is decent) rather it's to show that "defensive solidity" in fullbacks is a bit of a myth.

Kyle Walker at his peak is an anomaly. And even then, what Kyle had in spades at 1 v 1 defending, he lacked in general defensive awareness. So even prime Kyle wasn't that good defensively at everything. He was just very good at the flashy defensive part. I.e. duels, strength and athleticism.

That same scouting team has been behind extremely poor recruitment over the last few years. Posters can question their doubts on a footballing forum if they have reservations. It doesn't count for anything but if a city forum isn't a place for this type of discussion what is?

The Angers president says (in the clip) that there's a clause in Ait-Nouri's contract which gives them 50%, limited to maximum of 11.5m€ (assuming he goes for more than 23m€) which is payable to them over 4 years.

Our scouts get things badly wrong, as we know.

I hope they’re all brilliant, but there are some niggling doubts on one or two.

When you say 'like all of our defense', who do you mean?
Khusanov? Gvardiol? Nunes? Akanji? Stones? O'Reilly?

All the above are above average speed to vert fast for a defender. Im confused. There ais more to our defense than Dias, Akw and Lewis you know

He’s great on the ball, but he’s chronically slow! Just like all of our defence.

Bad move defensively, will definitely make us better on the ball, but again really weak on those transition we can’t stop.
