Why does the Wolves team bus smell like seaweed?

Because Rayan ate nori.

I was hoping around 35 million pounds myself. Aa someone who doesn't rate fullbacks, i hate these high prices. But weren't we pondering 67 million for Cambiasso in January?

That felt like a potential highway robbery. But let's see what it ends up being.
Are you paying

But I still don't get it. Out of 100 players in what? Your league? Your position? The world?
The population was 'other full-backs and wing-backs in Europe's top five leagues this season'.

Also interesting that he has more take-ons completed than Salah and Cunha but no one comes close to Doku in beating his opponent one-on-one. Beating a player does not amount to assists or goals but it is a step towards doing so.

50m does seem high since he has one more season left on his contract from what I've heard. I'd do it for 40m, but 50m isn't worth it. At that point, might as well get Aina on a free this summer for right back and go all in on Livramento for left back. If RAN doesn't sign a new deal, then we go get him for free next summer. AFCON this winter as well so Aina and Livramento isn't a bad contingency plan with both of them being homegrown as well.

Wolves +1 and a 50% sell on deal to cover.

Ahhh that makes sense then. I'm open to just giving them the 50m if we can't haggle that down.

Also just realized Aina as a stop gap wouldn't solve the AFCON absence of RAN since he plays for Nigeria.

Wolves have the option in his contract to extend for another year, so in reality he’s got two years left.

And Livramento is primarily a Right Back.

Whilst he’s demonstrated he could undoubtedly cover at Left Back, and do an excellent job there - it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to buy him specifically to play on the left.

Wolves can activate that sell-on clause buyout for around £8.5M–£9M, and you can bet they’re working overtime to sort it out. Much smarter and obvious just to pay that flat fee now than hand over 50% of the transfer fee they'll be getting from us.

yeah most likely. Dont see anything being a major issue. They hold an interest in McAtee as well but doubt they do this all in one. That can wait

Navas is a real mystery. He was bloody good his first season. Getting past his man regularly, and when he wasn't, putting fizzing balls over that often got to Beast (and others in the box). Fell off a cliff in his second season and from then on. Seemed to lose a yard of pace, (and for a winger who is not a dribbler, that's a lot).

Otherwise, I agree with everyone on his list, and the categories they're assigned to. Only one slight problem: Nunes is improving all the time. He's made a much better fist of his position since the turn of the year (approximately). I don't really think he's a class right back, and I don't think he ever will be. You've only got to think of Walker in his good years.
But decent squad player now, if he's happy with that.
Very accurate with his crossing. Managed to hit the first defender every time. Can't have been a fluke

I’ve watched Aït-Nouri play quite a lot this year and he’s always impressed me. He’s clearly technically gifted but the one thing that excites me most is that he is a fucking pain to play against because you can’t get the ball off him.

Our squad used to be exclusively formed of players who never seemed to be dispossessed. David Silva the best example but also Yaya, I don’t think I remember him ever being muscled off the ball - he just swatted people away.

That for me has been one of the major drop-offs this year and a big part of our precipitous downfall. I actually quite rate Nunes, but him along with Savinho, Doku, Foden and unfortunately at times, Kovacic and even KDB. It felt like we spent that entire Winter period turning the ball over every chance we got.

A foundation that looks more like Gvardiol, Khusanov, Dias, Aït-Nouri with Nico/Rodri in front is going to win a huge proportion of their duels.

Seems like this could be the first one in which is interesting! Could have been ongoing before Reijnders and Cherki deals then?

Agreed on not making Livramento the full time left back. I'm just thinking of using him at left back as a stopgap this coming season if we wait til next summer for Ait Nouri and can't find another suitable left back. To your point it's not worth wasting Livramento on the left and we'd probably be better off just paying the money for Ait Nouri now so we don't have to play Livramento on the left so much.
