Most of the major tournaments started off the same way, but time doesn't remember that. Give it a decade or two and it might be seen as more prestigious than anything else.

Bit annoying he is with France but I read that we can register more players after the group stage of club World Cup. Wonder if that will be the case with cherki? Don’t seem to have the time to do medical etc within next 9 days

We could do the medical while he's on international duty, we did with David Silva IIRC

I don't want to derail the thread too far off-topic, but there is a massive rejection of PSG and their owners among the supporters of the other clubs. You'd hardly find anyone happy with their victory.

It's a very different in the mainstream media as they are based in Paris... and may have strong incentives to promote the Qatari fund behind them.

Presumably, as sides who are going to the CWC don't have to release players for International duty, those bought and currently with their international sides could be released and join their respective club?

Sounds like he wants to concentrate on France which is understandable given he is yet to play for them and probably sees it as a great opportunity to do that this week.

Just seen the final is this Sunday as are the play off games for 3rd place. So I suspect he will sign on the Monday/tuesday before the window shuts. So there is time for get him registered for group stage. Suspect it will be similar for reijnders too
