RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Sorry mate, but you're getting your games mixed up

Fernandinho's main role has been reduced to late substitutions in games where we need to kill time and concede/win cheap free kicks. That's how he scored the late goal v West Ham, before they notched a consolation with the last kick of the game.

In contrast, Fernandinho has unfortunately aged in recent months, and is now a liability when he starts big games. He was poor last night and he was poor at Villa Park.
You are right bud it was West Ham. The game last night was meaningless. Rodri can have a rest and Fern can get few minutes. I see no harm in it. If anyone deserved abit of slack it’s Fernandinho.

Yep 100% I can't believe how well Phil Foden is doing at Barcelona.
My Weetabix has just ended up all over the keyboard. I remember now the main reason I come on here..... to make me laugh and ponder the vagaries of life the Universe and everything...the meaning of life in other words..... the answer 42! :-) :-)

And for those thinking because I am eating my breakfast that I have only just got up no, no, no, I am not allowed to eat until 1 hour after my tablets. Matron won't allow it. :-) ;-)

Kev showed signs he still has the brain and instincts to return to form very soon. Anyone who has had Covid with even mild symptoms needs to get back to full fitness and some take longer than others. Grealish worries me though, when Pep decided to swap Sterling to the false 9 in the second half, we lost all our normal left wing threat. I can’t see where the £100m player is yet, maybe we never will

I haven't read the whole thread but i can't see too many people complaining about actually losing a game that didn't really matter but i do understand the annoyance of us using it as a training game and then not playing any of the kids.
You don't often get throwaway games in the CL, it was an ideal game last night to give a few of the kids more experience in the CL.
Fcuk it, i'll go give my fanny a wipe

They looked ok while kicking a lovely pass to Jesus resulting in the Bernardo goal Vs Villa.

Im wary of writing him off as I’ve seen BM do it for years only for him to put in a great performance and everyone to post “he’s still got it” !
He is 36, there is nothing to write off, he has been a magnificent player but now at the very most can only contribute cameos of a few minutes.

Rodri is playing a lot of minutes and we witnessed at the end of last season his fatigue and resultant loss of form, and it probably cost us a champions league title, he needs to be rotated more but Fern can no longer do that.

Not concerned about the result, but the drop off in quality, decision making, movement and energy was disappointing to say the least.
all to do with a % drop off in intensity/concentration call it whatever but at this level it makes a difference especially when the oppo has something to play for and an empty stadium gives you nothing to feed off
you could argue it was the same for liverpool but in salah they have a deadly finisher, we had chances just not clinical

Foden is best on left, Sterling on the right so looks like Pep is trying to find somewhere for Jack. That said we are top of the league and in the last 16 so I will bow to Peps superior knowledge
