So frustrating to have a good first half, go in 1-0 up, totally dominate and build a platform... then come out for the second half like a team terrified of losing the ball, constantly recycling possession instead of going and actually trying to do anything. Taking zero risks to play forward balls (not just to Haaland, but to anybody).
Akanji taking ten years to do anything with the ball, Bernardo doing pirouettes for 30 seconds before just shifting it 2 yards to the next person, Gundogan acting like a mirror to all forward passes and not even trying to turn, Grealish getting away on the counter and then inexplicably turning back on multiple occasions, Walker getting in his own head, Mahrez always receiving the ball while running away from goal. It's like our players think the final third is some kind of mythical dimension where danger lurks and they see it up the pitch and think "there be dragons" or something. Better not go there.
I think the truth is there's too many players out there who look like they're happy with a solid 7/10 performance instead of trying to be Man of the Match, and as a result everybody looks like a 5/10 (being generous).
Honestly, don't know where we go from here. It simply has to be a mentality issue.
