Edderson
How many times do I have to say that his positional sense is poor and that he doesn't (even try to) dominate his six yard box?

He lets things happen at dead ball situations, leaves it up to defenders to clear the ball, and hopes for the best. That's why we've seen so many goal-line clearances by the likes of Stones, Dias and Walker.

I thought he played well last night, but his weaknesses are still clear. He's probably the luckiest goalkeeper I've ever seen. To be so average, and still playing elite football... it's almost unbelievable..

Walker 2nd half was so poor

Legs in midfield last 30 minutes had gone yet no changes, we fucked about with shitty flicks that just didn't work & then caused us pain trying to catch up

We need a Yaya type of player with a huge engine (Bellingham) & someone with outrageous pace on the wing

Love Riyhad but he's no runaway train

Jack I would leave he was decent last night, the only person that looked like we would score through

We need at least 3-4 top draw & very good players

Gvardiol I would take in a heartbeat, Bellingham & the kid LW at Napoli

Move Jack & Phil inside

And for fucksake a natural LB please

Not a foul for me and never will be.

Dias is slow to react and Gvardiol got the jump on him and nobody jumps without using arms for leverage.

Dias is only slow to react because Ederson is again rooted to his line and missed the flight of the ball.

Respectfully disagree with your take on the Dias incident. In my opinion Gvardiol gets up too early and then uses Dias for leverage, who then is unable to challenge.

100 percent agree on Ederson though, naively I just expected him to come and claim a simple cross...

The biggest problem in our team, and Pep went on to mention it in the post-match, is lack of pace. This in turn causes him & the players to be over the top with control, because they know they can't recover as quick as they used to. So we now have a monster up front who wants to attack space constantly, but the rest of the team (inc the manager, although he keeps saying they need to give him the ball) who refuse to pass to him due to fear of turnovers. Don't get me wrong, turnovers are a huge problem for us, but i don't think the answer is to try & have 90% possession because what happened against Forest & Leipzig will happen. Giving instruction for possession and control over everything leads to what we are seeing at the moment, a fear of turnovers and a fear of taking chances, like playing Haaland in behind when he's making runs.

If you think back to early on in the season when Haaland was scoring for fun, it was because we were taking risks. Obviously we were conceding at times because of this as well, there just needs to be a fair balance until we can get some pace back into the team.

If you look at some of Peps side in the past, in 2009 he had Henry and Eto eithe side of Messi. 2011 David Villa and Pedro as well. At Bayern he had Robben and Ribery. City at their best had two quick wingers in Sane and Sterling, everything has got very slow when we should be playing to the strengths that we have a quick strong forward player. The moment either Mahrez or Grealish take a touch and come inside whilst they think about what to do next, the opportunity to pass to Haaland is gone.

In the summer we need to be looking at that or at least trying Alverez out wide to shake it up a bit.

I thought it was a goid game last night, with two good technical teams. Id take a draw any day. First half our shape and willingness to attack was a breath of fresh air. They reacted very well. Pressed certain players and left others alone, they made good choices and deserved the draw. Possible oen for us at the death? Why nobreplays? All in all an enjoyable game (and it is a game afterall,).

Away draw in CL isn't a particularly bad result, the opposition were decent but no more than that

I have always lived Eddy's attitude but for years on here and elsewhere ive said he's not really a 'proper' keeper. Charged out always when first here, didn't and doesn't save any liw shots, well mot many. Yet last night he played quitexwell. Saved a definite goal for them in that 1 v 1. The goal conceded. As always a bit soft. Proper keeper clears everyone Schmiekle style. Mind you all goalies seem.like petals now
