RB Leipzig (H) | Post Match Thread

Most underrated player in the country. Rarely gets any recognition outside of our own circle. Even for England it’s all about how good Maguire has done with almost zero mention of Stones.

I completely agree, he is world class! Not sure he’s best used at RB/CM (although he was excellent tonight)… I would love to see him and Dias renew their bromance as a CB pairing for the critical time of the season, and for Lewis to play at RB.. but either way, boulders is phenomenal and long may he stay fit.

Obviously played well but I don't think we played "that" well to the point where we've just equalled our best ever champions league result. Combination of us playing well, leipzig being underwhelming and just everything going in our favour got us that result rather than it being a true 7-0 battering. We've played better against poorer sides and not scored even half that.

They were disappointing, I think their only real hope was pace on the counter, key players out meant werner was their only player capable of that and its werner, the guy who takes 8 chances to get it on target.

Atmosphere was good tonight we were much more up for it as a crowd, leipzig fans were quiet, hard to get up for it when your team barely touches it to be fair but ill give them credit for not being a stereotypical German side who just bang drums and sing like it's a 90 minutes rehearsed performance with no emotion or reaction attached to what's going on in the game.

Let's hope we take that result into our next few games and build on it, we're long overdue a change in gear or two. Shame the international break is looming, going straight into Burnley and then the dippers game off the back of that and presumably them going out tomorrow would have seen us slaughter them imo.

Can you hear me calling (pre-match thread posters) out your name...

Just caught it now on playback, how insightful was the “Bernado and Gundo can play in the pocket but Kevin needs the dynamic movement” comment…my conclusion; Pep understands the players and their characteristic/roles better than they do themselves…the man is a next level people manager…IMHO
