Hey journolud- fair point. It would be more fair if he didn’t admit to injuring stones a few weeks ago when he said he looked tired in training, still started him, got hurt. Then after the match he said it happens when players are tired. I’m sure he breezed over the medical team then.

Not so sure when it comes to champions league knock out stages ;)Surprised not to see Mahrez in the XI tonight. He seems to come alive on CL nights. Also, Phil must be disappointed not to be in, given his recent form. Then again, Guardiola knows slightly more about this management malarkey than me.

Gundogan and KDB together has been a disaster post World Cup. Akanji in this XI with the entire defense healthy is a nightmare. Bernardo doesn’t have the legs to stretch the fullbacks on the wing. Foden on great form benched..

i think you're talking bollocks frankly, all these players (gundogan, KDB, bernardo, akanji) are more than good enough and pep obviously knows how to fit them better than you. he hasn't done anything crazy here.Barely anything wrong? Well, the least that can be said is that that's a heavily stocked midfield. Unless Pep is going to play Kev much higher up than he normally does.
We was unbelievably bad in that game but ended up winning it. Isn’t it a record for least possession from a Pep team? I wouldn’t say it worked. It was a shambles on the pitch but luckily we managed to get the win.That trio worked a treat in our biggest game of the season to date at Arsenal.

Happy with that team personally. Gives us a lot of control in possession and should ensure we don't get countered. Tonight is the night we see the old De Bruyne. Pun intended.

An almost match day thread level of hysteria on here after that team being announced. I’ll give some the benefit and suggest it’s pre-match nerves.
Boil it down though and that is a very good team - hopefully Bernardo will have a bit of a roving commission along with KDB interchanging between the right and centre.
Nervous as fuck but these are the games you want to see, good old fashioned must win!

What’s so different from this lineup to the one we had this weekend against palace? Obviously no Foden but other then that?why does he keep doing this in the fucking knockouts man, it it that fucking hard to name a normal lineup?
