In all seriousness, fair play to the lad... imo he's forced his way into the 25 when prior to pre-season nobody gave him a hope in hell.
 
Happily see the back of Ireland as he is not good enough most of the time and not versatile enough for us. He can only play AM and that ain't enough. Milner is the better player. I'm not stars what villa talk say, I've seen enough of Ireland to not worry about losing him. A good squad player at best, but it is he, that wants first team football.

Stop being so sentimental. A team full of academy lads nearly took us down in 2006. How many came through Chelseas tanks? They seem to still do ok.

Aint beng sentimental as i said previously a straight swop i could see but not with buckets of cash - the very same thing was said when Gunny got the boot last year - Lescott was overpriced played well but not much better than Dunney just 3 times the salary and Milner is the same
