Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

We spent a fortune buying 3 x central defenders in January.

One is playing in France, one was not put in the Champions League squad, and one was stuck at right back and looks uncomfortable every minute he plays.

We can’t moan about defensive injuries.

We needed to buy an elite central defender and an elite right back in Jan yet fucked it up with shit recruitment yet again !
Come on, no player you buy in January is going to fix your problems for a game with Real Madrid in February, and there aren't any elite central defenders for sale in January. I think the management team have clearly got the rebuild wrong, but some of the strategies on here would have us being run like United.

That useless scouse tosser was slagging our new players off all night. “Nico was too slow”, “Khusanov couldn’t handle Vinicious Jr”, “Marmoush was anonymous”, while all true to some extent, it’s early days for these players. They were thrown in the deep end a bit last night, but that dick has already made his mind up. Real are full of experience and we aren’t.
I thought Khusanov did well after the first 10 minutes or so? scouse Mc P kept on going on about Marmoush taking most of our dead balls, until he was told that’s what he does. No homework done? Had to turn down the sound with his comments!

I put Dias down as man of the match. Given that Ruben was badly at fault for their first goal and nearly presented them with another on a platter, that either reflects very badly on my MOTM picking abilities, or on RD's team-mates.

Just to confirm, my rationale was that without him, it would probably have been about 8

1) What elite player is going to move in January? Please list them.
2) Khusanov doesn't look uncomfortable at all and kept Vinicius as quiet as he could.

I think most posters agree that it is not just one reason for our relatively poor season.
Injuries, an aged squad and yes some Pep brain farts.
Perhaps a minority wish we were back skint and in the old second division.
We will bounce back and current issues will be resolved. We have had unprecedented success and it’s been brilliant.
Anyone touting maybe a change of Manager really needs to give their heads a wobble.
Step up and show your support and stop treating adversity as a personal slant.

No - just the hypocritical nature of that type of post devalues anything else the poster has to say, really

Nothing hypocritical about my post. I don't have to praise any other team but if my team was having their worse season for over fifty years I wouldn't be so stupid as to go onto social.media to.mock another team. Mind you I wouldn't expect anything else from rag scum.

Defeat and out of the competition was expected but the manner of the surrender was horrible to watch.

While we continue to put out a midfield that contains Gundo and Bernie, we have no fucking chance. You can’t play this level of opposition with those two in the side.

Pep needs to wake up and be ruthless in the summer.
Broken record hear again;

Midfield too slow with Gundo, Bernardo and Kovacic ( not long) in!

For all you Rico haters, you can’t blame him!! I actually think he adds energy to the team ( dare I say?)

Well I know who i'd rather have out of the 2 at present
2 great players - I'd also take Erling, for what it's worth.

Don't forget - players who score a world-class hat-trick in one game can still be abso-f*ckin'-lutely anonymous in the next, remembering the Newcastle match :-(

I’m over 70…..seen games/trophies I never dreamed I’d see, been a privilege to have watched……

If we never get back to the very top again, I’m okay with that
