Bar their goal, which I thought was soft, the defence was indeed very good, particularly our right hand side. Would have liked our breaks in the last 30 minutes to have been a little more clinical. But 3 points away in the CL is always a very good performance.I thought the whole back 4 as a unit were superb, especially first 20 when they had no protection and it was gangbusters. But also last 15 when we sured it up.
3 yellows each, that is more that enough. It was the inconsistency in using his cards. I thought Foden's was probably deserved as there was no attempt to play the ball and it exceeded the 'careless' criterion. But there were a number of similar tackles by Madrid players that merited cards that weren't given. Even the commentators were surprised by his reluctance to get his card out for some of the Madrid fouls.
There were at least two by Rudiger that should have been yellow, including an off-the-ball incident involving Cherie, and other players committing multiple fouls that weren't carded. There was a tackle on Doku late on that was at least as bad as Foden's that wasn't carded yet O'Reilly was booked for something relatively innocuous. That's what the bent **** did wrong and if you couldn't see it then I'd recommend a trip to your nearest Specsavers.
I was there last night and that ground and home crowd is an unbelievable advantage. They could have been a lot shitter than they are and still given us a game. That was an absurdly wank Madrid side.
Didn’t find us anything like convincing but you cannot sniff at a win at the Bernabeu.
Thought Nunes our best player.
Rudiger should start every game on a yellow.3 yellows each, that is more that enough.
It wasn't a particularly dirty game and maybe some players didn't get booked who could have, whereas some that did could be considered unlucky.
If too many cards are dished out the game can become a farce.
I probably missed a lot on the "stream" and as we all know, incidents against us or in our favour are not normally re shown.
Rudiger was lucky not to see red but overall we can't complain about the big decisions.
Compare it to Newcastle away where we were well and truly done over.
Has anybody mentioned Haaland's celebration after the pen? That alone was worth every penny of his ten-year contract. That smile and head move, Smoked
I think he starts on -1 every game.Rudiger should start every game on a yellow.

Genuine question for you. There is an odd phenomenon here in France, which I've often noticed. In the bars, regardless of their local affiliation, people will just automatically support PSG, if they're playing. Is it the same in Spain? It's odd because, if LIverpool are playing, I will most definitely support the other team, unless they happen to be called Real, or Bayern (and even then, since Vin's been there, I've developed a softer spot for them, even though I dislike the club fairly intensely. In fact, I was most definitely rooting for Bayern in ’99).Pissing myself in my local here. All the Spanish are either sheepish or giving me the middle finger.
Rudiger should start every game on a yellow.
Still watching from behind the sofa in games like these
If we had a player like that we’d never see him cos of all the red cards.Makes me laugh the hatred for Rudiger on here I wish we had a player like that
We’d be more hated than we are nowIf we had a player like that we’d never see him cos of all the red cards.
We ain’t getting away with that.

Not Forget the Stadium ban on Alcohol, that’s worse than the other 2 issues!!! :0)Yet again, City Fans up in the gods and behind netting.
At our place we afford them pitchside and let them in with megaphones and drums.
Go Figure
Was there my self a few years ago , right in the gods
Bernardo is the one who Pep allows to cover the most ground. He drops back to pick it up from the keeper at the back of the midfield, he plays at inside right, he drops wider and lets the full back come inside. He runs more than any other player. He has been fading later in games, and we are at times asking too much of him. But he’s got to be in the team doing that job at the moment in my opinion IMO, at least until Rodri is back.I'm not sure he was - there's no way Bernardo, of all the team, would deviate from Pep's plan. So he won't have been asked to sit next to Nico G when he was leading the press & had most of his touches on the RW. It's not a slight on him btw, I just think Pep is asking him to do too much and it's leaving us open.
