Never played that team before and it showed never going to win a football match with two midfielders and especially Bernardo who plays all over the pitch and never stays central he should have played nunes and alt nouri ...nunes has been our best player for last couple of games and two assists last game Gonzales in the middle cherki from the start we had no composure on the pitch whatsoever pep underestimated them and thought he could steamroller them ....how wrong was he

Everyone else, in the PL and Europe, have seen us dominant and have worked towards competing with us, having had us embarrass them year on year.

They've risen to that challenge (the challenge being us) and we've pretty much rested on our laurels and just expected out old ways to still work. And it feels like it's throughout the club, from the training pitch to the executives.

Agree 100%. Criminal really, when you consider the standards of those running the club, but they definitely seem to have taken their eye off the ball. Arrogance, complacency or hamstrung by bullshit financial charges?

Probably a bit of all three, but certainly we could and should have aimed for a higher standard of signings than some of the squad we have now.

The baffling thing is arguably the best coach in the world and his coaching staff couldn't see what a shit show that lineup could prove to be, while a fair number of fans could.
Having said that i know why he did it. He looked at Madrid's weakened lineup and thought he would go for it. He got giddy. If everything would have clicked he'd now be being hailed a genius and we would have won. Instead it backfired and failed miserably. That's the gamble and in my opinion it's us now out of Europe.

The first 10 minutes were really telling when you could see what Savinho, Khusanov, Dias, Guehi and O'Reilly had been drilled to do. Doku was having fun and there were at least two tap ins there. The thin lines between labelled a genius and just mad arrogance. Courtois passed the ball over O'Reilly, they scored and then the game plan was thrown into disarray....

Then it happened again....and again.

Wont make any difference next year if Pep stays with the same coaching staff.

It's a completely new coaching line up to the one we had last season. I'm not saying they're great, but the problem feels deeper than that.

We don’t need to replace the greatest manager of all time. We need better players.

Biggest mistake we have ever made is not getting Declan Rice. We need to find someone as close as possible to that energy and drive in midfield.

We need two proper fast full backs that can defend and stop crosses.

And bin off Savinho and Doku and buy the two best wingers that money can persuade to move regardless of cost.

Do at least two of those three transfers and we win stuff again next season.

We bought one of the best wingers in the prem and Peps playing him as a 10.

We bought the best left back in the prem last season for goals and assists in Ait Nouri , Peps hardly played him.

We bought the best young creative midfielders in Europe that PSG wanted and he’s on the bench even thought he’s got the most assists for a midfielder in our team.

We’ve recruited well sometimes it’s not the players.

Everyone wants city to win mate. The annoyance for me is poor tactics and poor effort from the lads picked. After a performance like that from a weak Madrid the reaction is understandable

When I’ve slept on it I will be more measured. We are in transition which explains the poor performances for sure. But to not change things earlier tonight was almost as bad as the initial team selection, and the HT sub was bonkers
