Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

No way should any city fan want Liverpool to win the chumps league unless it’s against u****d
My point is it would make winning yet another title against them an even greater achievement… (IF and only IF we win the title)

Imagine if we had a CF who did the same?
On to next year as far as this trophy's concerned.
Exactly Benzema has dragged them through this competition, seen them gey outplayed by us, Chelsea and PSG at various times and he has scored just when it was needed. I have never seen a team create and MISS as many chances as we do.

Bernardo was absolutely world class tonight.

Walker was a monster.

Foden and Jesus were very good, and Mahrez stepped up again in the big moment.

not much went right for Kev tonight, but I think we can forgive him..

Sadly, Pep blinked too early and made the changes, and we just couldn’t get going again after that.

We need Haaland. Madrid never know when they’re beaten because they’re always confident that if they can get the ball to Benzema then there’s a chance of a goal. We’re the best footballing team in the world, but we’ve seen tonight that being a great team doesn’t necessarily win you trophies. You need a killer up top, especially in the biggest of games on the biggest of stages.

We go again on Saturday.

come on city

I'm sorry mate but Foden was poor tonight.

That’s exactly why Typical City is still mentioned.

We’re the Kings of England yet we’ve lost to English teams three times in the CL when we finished 25 points above Liverpool, 27 points above Spurs, and 19 points above Chelsea. We lost to a team who finished 7th in the French league. And we’ve gone out tonight after missing loads of chances in the first leg and acting like a naïve bunch of amateurs not understanding how to see a game out tonight.

Considering how good we actually are, yet we pull this shit in the CL every year, this is why Typical City lives on. It is literally typical of us to build us up to let us down, to do daft things, to look like we could score ten and then gift the opposition the game.

The worst thing about this was losing the tie with kdb, jesus and mahrez on the bench, you can lose a squad with this type of stuff (not that i think pep did much wrong with his subs, the logic was sound by and large)

Grealish created more in his 20 mins that Kevin did for most of the game. Not sure what Sterling was meant to do vs. a back 11. There are many more issues tonight before sticking on them two
Kev was surprisingly ineffective tonight and kept giving the ball away. He looked like he was out on his feet. Maybe due to being one of the older members of the team.

After the restart at 1-1 tonight someone from City has to go down feigning injury. Stop the game for 2 minutes, kill their momentum, halts the crowd frenzy and allows us to clear our heads and refocus. But we're too nice to do anything so snidey and we paid the price.
That’s what annoys the fuck out of me, we aren’t ruthless.

If I’m being honest, nothing in those two legs has made me feel any negativity towards Real.

They’re clearly a great side, maybe not as strong on paper, but they’ve pulled it off not once, not twice but three knockout ties in a row against three world class sides. That deserves some credit.

What we witnessed tonight was an extremely talented set of players with a weak mentality, against a very talented set of players with an extremely strong mentality - that we didn’t truly see until they were almost down and out.

Our players can learn from theirs.
