Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

The club havent addressed our weaknesses in 4/5 years!
Left back… (nuff said)
A 37 year old fernandinho ( total legend but …37)
no striker for effectively 3 years

its fuckin negligent
When you strip away all the noise, it pretty much boils down to exactly that!
it’s not UEFA, not the referee, not mentality, but spending vast sums in the wrong areas.
We have some serious young talent coming through and hopefully they will address some of those weaknesses and stop us having to rely on big-money purchases that may or may not work.

Just like last season we’ve done well to get where we are without a striker.

Forget what happened tonight, that can happen. What can’t happen is continually missing big chances in big moments Which happened once again the first leg. Elite teams don’t allow you to get away with it. Same in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Some pressure on young Erling’s shoulders now.
Do you think there is a mentality problem with City because I do. I think it’s our main problem. We sort that we win everything. Them scouse cunts have it in spades.

He played really well until the two minutes of madness when we threw the tie.
yeah abit at 1-0 but fucked up and cost us…. what did he do in extra time?? pep thought it was won and made shit subs……. fucking joke

It’s a mentality thing 100%. We just don’t have history in this completion. We don’t have that know how that other teams clearly have. We’ve been stung many times in the CL on games where we simply should of seen it through.

Well that's not good enough to be honest
You try doing your job when you know your best efforts are never going to be good enough because you're constantly getting screwed over. It gets to you, and with the added pressure of the occasion it really isn't difficult to see why he had an off game tonight.

Not everyone is perfect all of the time.

The answer is playing our academy players more. There was no reason why we couldn’t give them more games. If we intend to operate with just 17 senior outfield players then there’s simply no excuse for our aversion to using the kids. They should have played more earlier in the season so that our big hitters arrive to this point in better shape.
Out of interest which academy players do you think could have played for the first team this season?

I think Palmer would have have done ok.
Delap is a bit of a wildcard - has a petulant streak and would force us to play a different way.
THB - might be ok against weaker teams but we are well stocked at centre half.
Tommy Doyle - would have been happy to see him play as an 8 against some of the lesser lights.
Lavia - enormous potential but not yet ready for the pivot role in the first team.
McAtee - again a real talent but needs to bulk up a bit before being a starter against Premier League opposition. Should have had more minutes when we were seeing games out.

To be honest I do not think any of the youngsters with the exception of Palmer were really ready to start games in the league.
