What's laughable is people like yourself who think if a keeper can ping a ball with his feet that he's a world beater.
We might aswell play Kev or Mahrez or any other outfield player in goals, they can also ping a pass but would be equally as shit with their hands.
When Ederson came, he was a breath of fresh air, but he's regressed massively, he saves fuck all, and above all else that's what I want my keeper to do, passing a ball is a bonus.
For overall keeping I wouldn't put him in the top half of the Premier league, he's protected by the team who concede very few chances, which with him on net is a good job.
Top 3 in the world, you need to go and have a kip and clear your head.

He can't be blamed for playing in a team where he doesn't have that many shots to save. Of the saves he does make, his PL save ratio is just under 73% which makes him 6th in the PL and only a % or two behind those above him with the exception of Jose Sa who has shit loads of saving practice and is a great keeper (but not as good with his feet or distribution). The reality is that when Ederson does have shots to save, because the team are so good at protecting him, it is likely those shots are from the best players in the best teams. It's a shame there aren't stats for goalkeepers distribution/passing because that's where he stands head and shoulders above other keepers. All in all, he is a keeper made for our team. He's also hardly put a foot wrong in the Champions League, yes he has made a few errors but any goalkeeper does and when they do it can be costly, that's the name of the game.

De Bruyne played like a shithouse last night. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Pep would have preferred to see Ward-Prowse out there instead.

De Bruyne isn't the game changer he should be. We need fresh legs.

We're not absolutely awful at it. United still changing managers every 5 minutes and still harping on about needing the next Vidic and Ferdinand or Scholes. Even going back for Ronaldo to try and solve their problems. That is awful succession planning.

Arsenal to this day still long for a Sol Campbell or a Patrick Vieira.

Win all our league games and we get 95pts. 5 less than the 100pt season. Without a striker. We have one identified and that problem is solved. We brought in Rodri and he's stepped up and certainly isn't the reason we lose games in the CL.

We had an issue at CB when Kompany left and then moved to resolve it the Dias and Stones partnership was excellent last season.

David Silva? I give you Bernardo. Yaya Toure? De Bruyne's not bad.

We've done incredibly well to freshen the team and replace players and aside from this season I'd say we've probably kept on improving.

Still shellshocked from last night, that was truly dejecting. Not quite dejecting on the Porto gradient, but close. Having had time to reflect, this is my two penneth.

I said last night, admittedly when my head was fried, that if Pep leaves us without securing a CL he'll have failed. That may seem harsh, but it's an opinion I stand by. The domestic dominance is something to cherish, nevertheless the board will have envisaged at least one CL success under him by now. The primary objective they will have assigned would have been a CL victory, his reputation precedes him for a reason and the owners know that it's the one trophy that will elevate our stature immeasurably.
On last night's game itself; it was just same old story. We really are our own worst enemy in this competition. Sudden inexplicable lapses that cost us, always in these high pressure CL moments. As soon as Rodrygo scored his first I knew what was coming. That was what hurt the most, the inevitability of it. If this naivety is something inherent within the club then it needs eradicating. There's still a malaise within pockets of the fanbase with regards this competition, maybe that transfers to the players? Whatever it is, something is just off with the way we fare in this competition.

Next season is huge because it is, at least until we have any official confirmation of a renewal, Pep's last season in charge of us. And he simply has to get it right in the CL. It has to be our top priority. Haaland arriving is vital, it gives us that world class focal point I feel you need to get you over the line in the CL. The League Cup and Fa Cup need to be reserved for our youth players; contrary to what the propagandists would have you believe our squad is thin, and we need to save our best for the two big ones.

Pretty much a standard ref in the Champions league,most of them are used to the shithousery in their domestic leagues so go with the flow.

So we haven’t lost Kompany, Zaba, Toure, Silva, Aguero , and soon Fernandinho and carried on winning trophies and qualifying for the top 4.
I’d say we have done pretty well refreshing the squad, which we should finish this summer with an Aguero and Fernandinho replacement and stayed successful , that’s succession planning.
Next season we’ll have a team with a good average age with all our big players from the last 10 years replaced.

He's past his peak, regardless of what you say. He's been overplayed by Pep, and years of bad injuries leave him approaching a steady decline.

It's Kompany and Aguero all over again.

He's been the hero too many times, and we should be looking for his long-term replacement rather than kidding ourselves that he's going to go on at top level for another three years.

With his injury record, he's an obvious target for the opposition - Just like last night and in last year's CL final. He's possibly one bad challenge away from being out for months.
