Real Madrid (A) | Post Match Thread

Shows how far we’ve come

I know we’re not the old city

But some people either have hoped on the bandwagon, or forgotten where we come from

We’ve just reduced (barring a 10 minute spell) the 14 time European champions to playing on the counter in their own patch.

Also the clowns that names and shamed ederson after that rocket from Vini, get a clue about what you’re talking about. We could be staring down the barrel without at him

I reckon they needed to be up by two. Unless City has the starting XI run marathons every day for the next week they should be ready for them.

Cowardice?

Just fuck off. Away at Real Madrid in a CL semi final with a red like that and you accuse our manager of cowardice?

Honestly, just fuck off.

Superb result and we should do the job at home.
There was absolutely no real need to make a sub.

We'd contained them largely, and were set in our formation which was pretty rigid.

Yes it was warm out there but they hardly gave us the run around.

Game was on a knife edge and sometimes subs can be at a detriment in such tight games.

I don't know how to feel about that... Yes, we got a draw but it was a pretty poor showing.

The fact that Pep didn't make a single sub is so bizarre that dare I say it borders cowardice.

You need to take a breath, get some cold water on your face.

Then after that, get a grip, unbelievable what you’re saying honestly.

A great result but actually think that was our weakest performance away at Real Madrid. We conceded the ball far too easily and faced dangerous situations more often than we did in those other encounters - even if we ultimately did concede less goals. We were also so slow and feeble with our own efforts in the final third which was quite surprising to me.

In terms of positives, we have it all to play for at the Etihad and it’s going to be an amazing occasion. We kept our heads in the face of the referee facing major pressure and at times some relentless fouling. I also thought Ederson was very assured tonight which was great to see.

Overall, have to put it down as a good night with it all to play for at a venue where we have an amazing record - our home.
