100% that was what Pep wanted from them tonight. Just had to listen to what he said yesterday about bringing the tie back to the Etihad next week.Great result. We looked shit, but I reckon a lot of that was us playing safe to bring a result back to Manchester.
We played far better last year at theirs and lost so I’m much happier with what we did tonight. We got lucky tonight very concerning second half looked very passive and madrid could have scored more goals we did not play well at all!
Average probably a bit harsh given the result, decent probably a better way of putting it.average performance lol
Thanks, I was beginning to think the match I watched was in some sort of alternate reality or something. Superb performance against supposedly the best team in Europe/The World on their home turf, in very difficult conditions.Excellent result, and excellent performance
Not sure why people thought we played average. We played one of the best teams in the world away from home, and controlled 60% of the match
I wonder how often teams never use subs. Pep has to be the leader.Yeah, that last De Bryune run could have gone different with one of those in the pitch. If you are going to settle for the counter in the last minutes, it is strange to not have fresh legs upfront.
Pep is a great coach but his aversion to substitutions is strange.
Has to be a pit next week. Like Arsenal was. We CAN beat these, believe! If you aren't prepared to scream for everything and intimidate fuck out of the ref next week, sell your ticket to someone who will. These dirty cunts need hounding.
I thought the ref was excellent. Only thing he missed was the Rudiger foul on Gundo.Got to hate the cheating gits, shite ref, but a great result for us, we were miles better than them in the first half and for some of the second, got to be happy to bring them back to our place at 1-1
