Real Madrid (A) | Post Match Thread

A more than decent result.

I think a few factors affected us tonight, firstly the heat, it is very warm apparently. Then throw in the fact players are tired, energy levels drop off significantly couple with the heat. Then there was the psychological factor of losing to these in Madrid a few times.

We didn't play that well. We all know we can play much better. Yet we still return to Mancland with a deserved 1-1 result.

Next week in the Cold and wet of Mancland we will see a different Beast.Hostile crowd.

We will do these.

If,and it’s a big if we go at them from the off next week intensity and high tempo we will be contesting a champions league final,get drawn back into their shenanigans and it could go against us or head to extra time and pens ..
 
A draw will do and it's all to play for.

On a side note, some posters need to look up the word 'pathetic' in a dictionary, as it seems to have become the adjective of choice to describe our players who have not been on top form - proper fucking weird cunts.

Unfortunately City already did as the tickets went on open sale immediately (I believe)

One big big difference that I REALLY appreciate compared to last year is our rest defence/defence. We can soak up pressure much better now and have better penalty box defending.
 
A very good result… we are great at home in the CL and usually very effective against the big teams.
 
A highly professional performance with a good outcome. With no subs, theres no way KDB, Gundo and Rodri will be starting vs Everton.
We were not overawed and just need to turn it on next week at home. Eddy shot stopping was top notch.
 
Better result than performance. Defence did pretty well their goal aside. Stones wasted some good possession. Gundogan wasn’t great after his injury and probably should have been taken off. Bernardo was surprisingly poor, lost almost all his battles against Camavinga and was unusually lethargic and nearly cost us late on. Haaland got so little service. KDB took his goal so well but didn’t have his best night. Grealish got no protection at all from a very poor referee. Rodri had a couple of brain farts but did ok.

Overall we started well but really didn’t hurt them enough. We need to create an awful lot more next week.

Is the correct answer.

I’m not sure what game some folk were watching but bar a tough 20-25 minutes (overall) we played with real composure and bottle, keeping them at arms length. Keeping a team like that quiet and frustrated for long spells isn’t easy. Spoiler - they’re a really good team that have a belief from being there and doing it repeatedly.

Huge effort and we got what we absolutely deserved.

Roll on next week.
 
PRetty good result but we didn´t play a good game at all imo.Now we need to keep our home streak alive and we are through
 
Great result… just worry about UEFA cheating us out of it at home. We should have enough to finish this off but Madrid get ALL the big decisions in this competition. We need to blow them away.
