I don’t think 80 MPH is actually that fast for a shot. Vaguely remember reading something years ago and some of the big boys were hitting them at well over a 100.
I remember Peter Lorimer being credited with the hardest shot in football after being clocked at 90 MPH in the 1970's, I assume modern balls move quicker though.
