David will probably start then

Ederson
Walker Fernandinho Laporte Mendy
KDB Rodri David
Mahrez Aguero Bernardo

is my guess. I would've preferred Bernardo in midfield and Jesus at LW

Dave was always going to start after being rested this weekend.

the only question is the front 3.

I’d go Jesus-Aguero-Bernardo.

A lot of defensive work rate on the wings, with Sterling ready to come on against tired legs.

this is our best chance imo

This is what every City fan wants. Pep is probably going to overthink it to counter the opponent rather than playing to our strengths as usual in CL

We want Dinho playing in midfield.

Sadly it won't happen, and it's going to significantly reduce our chances our getting through this tie IMO.

Despite Hazard's absence Real will field a pretty strong team with many star players who have plenty of experience in the CL and play under the manager with the best record in the CL. Think we will do well there but some people seem to underestimate them. Atleti are much worse than them this season and defeated Liverpool. Won't be easy but I'm optimistic. Hope Pep selects the team on the basis of current form. Afraid he might get sentimental with some of the legends though. Experience is important but energy and hunger no less so, if not more. Best case scenario is both Dave and Kun play, are the best players on the pitch and win us the game. A more realistic scenario is if Dave starts on the bench. He can still have magical moments though, Bernabeu is a good place to show once more his incredible talent.

Mahrez has to play ..he combines really well with KDB

Madrid have been far better without Hazard this season. Their upturn in form came when he was injured and their latest defeat came on his return. Not as big a blow as it could be for them as I think it's taking him a season to settle there
