We're winning games of late, they're poop

So they'll win 1-0 because reasons

If we had beaten Leverkusen I would have taken the hit here to keep Alonso in a job so Liverpool won't sack Slot.

Unfortunately this game has now become must not lose.

It's Clement Turpin, who I do think is one of the best refs in Europe.
Here in France, we call him "Mr. Penalty." He blows his whistle for a penalty at the slightest contact in the box, and he hates being overruled by VAR. I think he's the referee who awards the most penalties in Europe.

He's the one who gave us a penalty and Bayern a penalty in Munich during the second leg of the 2023 Champions League quarter-finals.

We have to be careful.

Some are a bit too impressed by injury problems of the opposition.

I remember our visit to Norwich in 2019. They were really shit and had about 10 absences due to injuries. We lost that game despite having in the first XI Ederson, Walker, Stones, Rodri, Gundo, David, Aguero, Bernie, Sterling..., and Kevin plus Jesus and Mahrez off the bench.

Whatever team Madrid field, they are quality and will be with some of the best players in the world in certain positions. Anything can happen.

Wouldn't be surprised if City won by 3 goals or lose that game. Football isn't played on paper.

That said, 3:1 City is not unrealistic (I hope).

Totally agree with everything you said. 4 nil city

I fucking hate these cunts. Everything about their club from top to bottom reeks of arrogance. It’s about time we beat them, not won any of the last four games against them and not won at their place since the tie with both legs split by the Covid lockdown (Jesus, and De Bruyne pen).

I want that disrespectful **** Mbappe with his arrogant ‘who the fuck’s he?’ celebration aimed at Gvardiol last season, that whinging Brummie wanker Bellingham and that mard arse Ballon d’Or sulking Vinicius Jr all gutted at the end of the game Wednesday.

Why would you be concerned with that? Alonso plays a back 5, dippers dont have the players for that system, he would be as much of a poor fit as his Madrid tenure.

Carreras at LB for Madrid an ex Rags academy player. The good news in three 90 min appearances against City the scores were three wins for City, 3-0, 4-2 and 3-1 and in one of these appearances Carreras was sent off after 2 yellow cards for which he is predisposed to pick up a card or two. Top in ball recoveries for Madrid and tackles made but he has lost the vast majority of his tackles.

Hopefully we run at him.

Madrid 12 goals so far in CL with 9 from Mbappe 8 with his right foot, 1 with his head, so hopefully we keep him quiet and force him onto his left foot, and give ourselves a chance. 3 of his goals were pens. Let’s not give away any pens.

50% of Madrids attempts at goal have come from either Vinci Junior or Mbappe.

Clement Turpin has reffed 6 City games, 3 wins, 2 losses and a draw. He has given 4 pens in these games.

He reffed the first leg against Madrid at home last season in which we lost.IMG_0073.jpeg

How many they have sent off yesterday, reading the report it says 2, but has 3 there, it also says both of them were for 2 yellows.

Not like the bbc to be full of shit about football is it ?

What team are we looking at for Madrid here, potentially, with their injuries?

Courtois
Valverde, Asencio, Rudiger, Carreras
Bellingham, Tchouameni, Camavinga
Guler
Mbappe, Vinicius

Something like that?
A strong line up that is even if they have a few out.
