Real Madrid (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

We got out of that game what we put in - not much. Over the two legs we were easily beaten - wasn't even close. Pep has had more good hidings in Europe than most top managers I can think of. It's like we rarely lose 2-1 there's a calamitous collapse in every half, every year it seems.

For me only Khusanov, Cherki and the superb Doku wanted to win that the game. The others couldn't be arsed and we're probably just told not to injure themselves.

I honestly wonder now where this leaves Pep. He just doesn't seem able to get a team playing even close to it's ability - the slow, fuck boring shite in the 2nd half doesn't work against Wolves etc so why would crab passing open up Real? It was fucking boring to watch with no pace, energy, ambition or hope.

Real didn't break a sweat. Rudiger must piss his pants when he sees Haaland on the team sheet. It was astonishing to watch Vinicius have so many chances and shots - did no one think of marking the fucker?

Im not surprised by tonight I expected it so didn't go, but something needs to change at the end of the season.

Dias fell off a cliff and he's still crawling on the floor with broken legs..
We've got some great defenders here but there not being coached in a system to defend..
Let's face it we are absolutely shite at defending but we've got some great defenders..
Make of that what you will.
Not mobile enough any more, makes Ake look fast

I thought we played really well.

Stuck in there, rode our luck but kept going.

Listen the tie was over in the 1st leg and defo over when bernie went off but we didn't let them take the piss.

The crowd was brilliant, we stayed til the end and kept singing.

Look what the cunts in the m.e.n. could only muster up.

Why are there empty seats in Man City vs Real Madrid Champions League fixture?

Fuckin rags every place you look.

Super city.

Roll on Sunday.

We’ve got a heck of a lot of the features of a quality counter attack team but play the completely opposite system. Imagine playing compact with Rodri in front of the back 4, inviting people on, and then winning it back, and giving it cherki to planing doku Semenyo or Haaland……

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought valiantly to the end. Thank you, City thank you fans.
The only person I can’t thank tonight is Pep Guardiola. I appreciate he picked the team he thought he wanted but what I don’t appreciate is that he didn’t console those lads at the end. They played their hearts out for him for the team for the club. It wasn’t right.

Thank you, City players you did us proud. You’ll come back fighting and we the Supporters will be there behind you.
Thank you.

One takeaway from that build the team around Cherki.
I know he has his qualities, but didn't he give the ball away loads, including one that led to the goal? Maybe I need to rewatch it (which I'm not going to), but I wasn't that impressed by him.

It was a spirited performance, albeit against a side with little to worry about. I felt like they had an extra gear to kick into at any given moment, had we scored another.

Can’t expect a whole lot more from 10 men against serial Champions League winners, despicable as they might be.

When Vinicius is walking off the pitch in tears, shirt over face, after Bayern put them to the sword next round - it’ll give me warm feeling inside.

It’s the MuEN don’t forget.

I thought that was a solid performance and enjoyed watching us play. Annoying to lose but when it's not a toothless performance it doesn't sting as much. If we play every game with that intensity and desire well be sound.
