Fallen down a Twitter rabbit hole. This guy says Arsenal have a big problem bots hoovering up tickets. It wouldn't be surprising if City's increase in popularity means something similar happened today.
There was an article on line a few weeks ago claiming PL clubs regularly had loads of bots trying to buy.
It also claimed clubs had 8,000 to 12,000 season tickets spread between a few dozen people and all were sold on the black market at inflated prices. Seems a high percentage to me given that so many clubs are moving to digital tickets.
