I was talking about limiting the numbers that could join rather than applying points afterwards. A sensible total number would be the same number as we have ST holders. For the first year it would encourage more ST holders to join the scheme if they knew that in future years they might not have the option if it’s oversubscribed.

I dunno mate. Every idea is worth considering. But to be honest I think somebody reading this thread in isolation would be given the impression that there are an awful lot more non season ticket holders who are desperate to go to all or the majority of games than is actually the case.

Should have put that a person has to attend a certain amount of matches before being able to buy tickets
or put some on sale at ticket office where you have to produce your city card with ID
I attend about 4 matches a year and would like to think that a person who’s attended say 12 home matches to get a ticket before me
the term piss up in a brewery comes to mind

you are missing the point, i don't make the decisions, i just fear the club have gone down a completely different route, their is no denying there was a lot of apathy for a decade around the champions league from our fans, the club tried all kinds of promotions, but they seem to have now said fuck it the tourists are the answer in terms of money and numbers, i don't agree, just how i feel it is

You say they tried promotions etc which failed but now said fuck it

Why not say fuck it years ago instead of promotions which did not work in your view but fuck it did?

I have to say I’m really disappointed with the club on this one , this was a blatant attempt to push those bloody membership cards to as many people as possible . Be interested to know how many they sold to people who are attending their first match for the Real Madrid match, no thought at all to loyal fans , it’s disgraceful behaviour and no way to treat fans

Just caught up on this. It’s a real let down for the people who go to the lesser games to miss out on a chance to see the highlight of the season. Over the last couple of months there has been a great spirit at the games and attachment between the fans and the players. This plus the news yesterday that STs are going up when it isn’t really needed will dampen this. It’s sad and badly thought out. Early next season when there are 38k on in a group game v Bruges and it’s like a morgue the club may like to reflect on how they have treated the non ST regulars. They certainly have my sympathy.

Easy to say Dave if you’ve secured your ticket for the game but for those who haven’t it won’t be a storm in a teacup.

Both of my boys missed out because of a bug in the software which didn't recognise them as Junior Cityzens when I tried to pay for the tickets. They've been to every home game in every competition for years. I'm not being smug, I'm just saying that nobody beyond us on here cares much, rightly or wrongly.
