Real Madrid post match post mortem

This is one of the worst Guardiola teams. At City only the 1st year was so bad. And im a big fan of him. But thats the true
Have a lie down and get a grip. We’re top, in a FA cup semi and got knocked out by a bunch of lucky cowards. You’re pathetic and as is anyone else agreeing with you.

All on Pep this.

Rubbish set up and rubbish subs.

Why play Foden out of position for the first half?

Then took Haaland and KDB off with pens looming.

Brings Kovacic on for pens who then takes an absolute shit pen.
aLl On PeP tHiS

Fucking wise up

Kind of sums up our season
We’re not creating as much or clicking as well in the final third despite dominating games
The fact we’ve failed to beat Liverpool twice Arsenal twice Chelsea twice real twice and spurs once shows that last year took a lot out of us (naturally) and it’s a credit that we were still in contention for the top trophies up until tonight.

Thought Akanji was brilliant as was Walker bar the goal.

Silva’s penalty knocked all the momentum out of the shoot out

Rudiger really is a thorn in our side. What a ****

Best team lost. Poor penalties and a few odd decisions from Pep. Just need to get up for Saturday now. Lads weren’t at their best in either game for me but that’s maybe me judging us on how good we were last year.
Two big changes in team set up that's just not Pep.. trying to shoe horn in a big CF.. he didnt even like Zlatan who could really play..Mahrez that control and monents of genius much needed and bigger miss than many care to mention.

Unbelievable to think Madrid have knocked us out twice in three seasons. Never known a team ride there luck so much! They always look on the ropes and pull it off somehow
We need to address our finishing and set-pieces ASAP. We can not dominate teams only to lose to them afterwards. Madrid fear us and they know we are monsters, but somehow we failed to put them to the sword when we were yielding it.

Read every post in the thread, people blaming a myriad of different things.

Personally I think the problem this year has been how wildly inconsistent our goal scoring has been.

You need to take chances and this year we just can’t seem to do it when it has mattered. How can you have 10 shots on target at home and only score one?

You don’t win knockout cups with those kinds of numbers.

Reminded me of the Arsenal game. They came with a game plan and executed it well. Our habit of conceding to the first meaningful opposition attack, whilst also missing our own chances, was always going to bite us on the arse when it came to the crunch, and today it did.

You don’t take your chances against a side like Madrid and you risk . . . that.

Thought we played well, especially Doku and Gvardiol among others, but the goal Madrid scored was criminal. Walker made up for it in other ways but wildly flagging for offside and letting Rodrygo in behind him . . . ugh.

Bernie’s pen was silly — I can’t stand chips from the spot, especially if the keeper is rooted — your entire advantage is proximity and pace so take advantage and make the keeper guess right. But it was an inability to score in regular trine that doomed us to giving them a 50/50 chance.

But there’s still a lot to play for and they’ve got to pick themselves up and focus on Saturday. And take what we’ve learned (hopefully something) and apply it next season.

Usual story. Give away a crap goal and spend the rest of the game passing sideways, often at walking pace and failing to break the oppositon down and refusing to shoot. It was going to catch up with us eventually.

Also, we’re shite at penalties although Ederson’s was quality.
