Haven't even seen Silva (2x), Gundogan or Mendy but this squad is looking infinitely better than last few seasons. Fullbacks are quick and creative. KDB and Sterling seem to have great chemistry together. Random players like Mangala and Nasri are showing up and playing well which is good for us whether we keep or sell them. The youngsters have brought a different energy to the team and fanbase it seems like as well.

Okay I'll throw it out there. Can Samir Nasiri, can he play Yaya's position. Now I have been one who would be glad to see the back of him, but and a big but at that. When he came on at half time, he looked sharp, quality on the ball, closed down his nearest opponent and didn't put a pass wrong. Then when Yaya went off just dropped into the whole with ease. Could Pep be looking at trying to keep him again (only as back up but a quality back up at that). Anyway over to you....

I hope they keep Sam but I don't know how much game time he will see. In that CM spot (there's two on the 352 we played today, the more attacking role, and the holding one which you were referring to, Nasri could play both for sake of this conversation) we have Yaya, Dinho, Fernando, Delph, and of course Silva. Plus Gundagon will be back soon.

That's a lot of guys for two spots. Add in injuries and league cup matches and yeah he'd probably start a few games, but i don't know if he has it in him to break into the team regularly. Wish him the best. Always liked him.

Delph and Fernando will both be gone for the start of the season
What we don't know is how much that pres leak motivated Nasri and he played with a real point to prove
What I did notice is how he and KDB embraced following their link up for Stones' goal, which was really good to see and sort of puts the "squad vs Nasri shit" to bed

Great result, fantastic performance, but it's still only a pre season game
