Real Madrid - Post Match Thread

We could defintiely walk it, as could a couple of others.

The teams at the top of the league right now are very new, someone just needs an easy run of games or some momentum at the right time to put together a big run like Chelsea's last season and they could be 8-10 points clear by Christmas, and I don't see any team reeling them in.

Last season we had the most wasteful attack and the most blundrous keeper/defence. Sort one and we'll be in a title race, sort both and we'll be getting 90+ points and the others will have to keep up.

I think the league is determined as much by injury and ref decisions as anything else at this point. The margins between the top sides are so thin that I think the difference between walking the league and out of the CL isn't even very far. Chelsea and Leicester were both incredibly healthy and had decisions go their way. There's nothing wrong with that, they had enough quality to capitalize on those situations. But as we sit here today it's hard to say who will win as it's impossible to know who will be hurt by key injuries.

Having watched the match back several minutes ago definitely thought the standout player was KDB. Seems revitalised in comparison with last season showing plenty of energy and a very good pressing game. His vision, movement and passing were exceptional. Good workout for many others including the kids and fringe players.

It's really about momentum, and you're right the ref plays their part. If the ref sends off Luiz or gives either penalty in our game vs. Chelsea and we stop Chelsea's 14 game winning streak on 7. They go back down to second, they lose the champions elect aura they built up and they could well have lost the league.

I said a few times last season when he looked knackered that Pep's more aggressive, almost box-to-box role requires insane stamina and he didn't have it last season. Hopefully with a proper rest & preseason he'll be an absolute machine and keep up his performances to the standard he was last season from August-December.

Everyone should be much fitter actually, the Spurs players talked about Pochettino's second season as the one where they really made massive fitness gains and were able to put his aggressive pressing into effect all season.

Did any of our Arabic speakers watch the game on Bein Sport 2 ? I did & there was some low fat Garth Crooks/ Hasslebank's lovechild in the studio, wearing a red tie & white shirt.

I couldn't of course understand a fucking word he was saying, but would just like it confirmed that he was talking utter shite.

just watched the highlights. Some wonderful attacking football, KDB is just world class, Diaz's goal screamer. They opened our defence pretty easy few times though, hope we can close that when real games come.

It was Real Madrid. They'll cause ANY team problems, at times.

Madrid really didn't cause too many problems. Our defence looked well organised.

it was just a preseason win but i think finally we have a squad to challenge in Europe seriously. sanchez or mbappe would be an icing on the cake
