Real Madrid post match thread

Admittedly unlucky with injuries tonight - again - nevertheless, how many times do we have to lose a lead after 'safer option/consolidatory' substitutions before we try a more progressive sub? Perhaps attack would be a more effective form of defence?
Madrid were there for the taking tonight, if only we'd had the courage.

Infuriating to dodge all those bullets in the first 15 minutes, only to perform the same boring party trick all over again.

I'm at the other end of the country, but I take my hat off to every one of you who turn up to watch this scenario repeated over and over again.

why are all decisions that go our way contentious
foden adjuged to have been tripped just inside box
off side goal adjuged to of been off side
everyone else clear pen clear off side amazing

Tonight was pretty miserable for a load of reasons:
We lost to Madrid the jammy baskets who always get the breaks against us though could have stuffed us with their chances.
We collapsed late on again.
More injuries.
The worst of it is the realisation that some of the finest footballers to ever grace our club are done- Gundogan (age), KDB (injuries), Bernardo (burnt out), Ederson (off the reservation) and injuries may do for Stones and Ake. Plus some very good players like Grealish and Kovacic.

Of the treble winning side I could see only 6 or so players still at the club next season.
Sport innit. You're the best in the world till you're not. Almost impossible to get the timing right. Kompany's the only player I've seen do it.

Special mention for the photo wankers getting stewards to take photos of them posing on the way out

Madrid has just scored the 3rd and some cunts were lining up taking selfies holding everyone up

Is that even within the laws of the game? I thought there had to be at least a dozen sideways or backwards passes before going forward. And never, ever go forward at pace. No, no, no, no no. It's not fair on opposing defenders is it? Got to give them time to get back.
But the sideways and backwards stuff has won us a lot of trophies. What's the energetic, quick style ever won for Real Madrid?
we have a good system, you only have to look at past trophies won to deduce that. The problem is now we don't have the players to execute that system.

We clearly just don’t have the correct level of players anymore regardless of what Pep tries to overcome Madrid. Same as Pep’s first season and the issues were addressed the following summer. The leadership team aren’t fools and neither is Pep, alas we will need to somehow limp through this season and just accept it for what it is.

Success will come again and it will feel all the better for our lapse this season

You and me both. But I find so much of the abuse of players who have given us so many great days just fucking dreadful.

We have to get it into perspective. It's people on here having a moan. At the games the players are rarely given stick even after a few of them seem to cock up more than once. Sport at the top level is unforgiving and you're only as good as your last game.

Well played some fantastic game but wide open like in amsterdam

All you whingers crying about not winning the glittering pots this year, just reflect: in the first 115 years of our history we won trophies in 8 of them. 107 fucking years with nothing.

So shut the fuck up, change your panties, get behind the team on Saturday. City's future is incredibly bright. And stop disrespecting the great players of our recent past.

I suppose. It's just hard to take at the moment.

Bullshit.

I hope I am wrong but I can see next season being worse than this season
If we bought well in January (and it's far too early to tell) and buy well next summer then next season might be an improvement. However I can see some poor attendances if we're in one of the Thursday Leagues and that might affect the mentality of the entire club.

I actually don’t care that much that we’re out of this shit stain of a competition (yes we’re out)

We’ve won it once that will do for me, we’ve got no chance of winning it anyway even if we’d got past these wankers, and it will save me a fortune that I can’t afford

What pisses me off is the latest feeble catastrophic collapse to go with the 9 or 10 others we’ve had to painfully watch this season

Think I’d rather we’d lost 4-0
