Real Madrid post match thread

Never ever will City have a better manager than Guardiola. Never.

But this season....what happened to him? With every substitution he made, City got weaker and weaker. Again.

How long before results in the past are no longer enough to go on?
Is he really ready and up for it to fix this ?? Im not sure anymore

Thought we’d get leathered so at 3-2 you never know.
All we need now is stop fucking up for 90 minutes.
As if.
I’m not to disappointed cos I’ve seen it too many times.
Thought we did well going forward and created some good chances.
Defensively I knew we’d struggle against pace and we did.
Made much worse by Akanji going off as Rico was nowhere.
Hopefully get Nico in for the away leg and just go for it.
Full out attack mode and if we die on our sword so be it.
Should've gone for it more tonight, it was too pedestrian again, we're a pale imitation of that team that spanked them 4-0 two seasons ago. This old guard needs to be dismantled now, the time is up for them and we have to thank them for the amazing service they've given us over the years

I agree but I don’t know what we are going to do anymore. Game management has vanished, Nico not up to speed to play a game like this but we need him there and fast. By 60 minutes we are somewhat non existent in these big games, legs have gone, opposition bringing younger fresher players on where as we aren’t and we get run through. Tonight I thought our experience might be getting us through and then once again it’s a huge error that occurs.

Needs a huge rethink by the summer, teams are just staying with us to the hour mark, going up a gear and we are cooked both physically, but more alarmingly mentally.
Mr Whippy & Kova's legs had gone before they got on.

Ederson’s clearance literally kicked the stuffing out of us, then we simply could not shut the game down, as the subs were meant to do.

We are simply incapable of putting our foot through the ball and hoofing it away with seconds on the clock.

We looked brilliant from 19-40 minutes. Rest of the time, they felt on top and very dangerous.

Pep had everyone available except Rodri, and it looked like it at times against one of the best teams in the world.

But, we are SO fragile and nervous at times, and living by our wits and by the skin of our teeth.

Result takes all the air out of what could have been an outstanding result and Haaland grabbing a couple of goals.

Big game at the weekend now, because this could be a “3 big losses in a week” run, putting the CL in the rear view mirror and Top 4 in doubt, with Liverpool and Spurs’ Cup Final up next!!!

People saying it’s to early to play the new guys.

it’s a ridiculous statement. Ok I get it, in previous years when we was the best team on the planet.

Right now, these players may aswel be playing every week.

They are our future, and it will do them good.

It was Lewis ball that led to Foden being brought down for Penalty but nah forget that and let’s slaughter a young player played out of position.
He isnt just judged on playing a through ball that leads to a pen...it was totally inept defending leading to their winner.

They should have been ahead with the chances they wasted. We looked a lot better in certain aspects but still so vulnerable to their pace. However, at 2-1 with little time left just fucking basic game management. Milk the niggles, feign injury, kick it into row Z and stay compact. Ederson gifted them one, Rico then got caught in two minds but Kovacic could have just hoofed it out of play. Stones had played some sloppy passes already before that.... Just the story of our season.

Still...one goal in it and who knows what might happen. Their defence was shocking it's just highly unlikely we will outscore them. But that's why we love the game, stranger things have happened.

Real are better than us and could have won by 2 or 3 but I can't feel mad at the players after that

It does make me sad to see how old de Bruyne, Silva, Gundogan all look

So one good pass negates countless fuck ups?

Could just as easily say, "it was Lewis' shithousing that cost us the third goal but he passed to Foden so let's all praise him"

Probably the worst in-game management I've seen from Pep.

Silvinho was causing all sorts of bother on the right hand side, he was our best player in the first half after Gvardiol. Yet he was sacrificed to the left wing where he is ineffective.

KDB can not play at this level anymore. It's sad but true. In that second half it was like playing with ten men. But Pep kept him on far too long.
Can Pep do anything to stop Ederson from making that kind of unforgivable kick out ?

To be fair Edison had a good game today - 4 excellent saves to keep the score down.
Counts for nothing tho with that cock up at the end. To cheaply give the ball away in the closing minutes when we just needed to keep things tight is a disgrace.
