Real Madrid to listen to offers for Sergio Canales

Lmao, yeah because we already have enough Ronaldos, Higuains, Kakas, Ozils, etc.

Don't be dense. This kids a superb talent, if he wants to come here, we have to get him.

If Mourinho doesn't think he's good enough for Real Madrid's first XI, he's not good enough for our first XI.
Our 11 is no where close to Madrid's.

Strange logic by TheSituation. Real and Barcelona have the best squads in the world, some of their "failures" have lit up other teams. Mourinho built the foundation of his Champions League winning Inter side on Real "rejects". Wesley Sneijder, one of the finest players in the world, was a Real reject.

Canales is little more than a kid so just to get on Real's bench is quite something. They had Higuain, Diarra, Kaka on the bench against Spurs - combined value around 100m.

The fact is, we want to be as good as the likes of Real Madrid, not as good as their bench. We want to enter the Champions League and fight for the competition, not just be happy to be there. Yes, Canales looks like he could be a decent player, but to progress we need to aim a little higher.

So we should have 25 players who are only first teamers at their clubs... thus rendering about 10 of them fringe players to call on now and then? Canales would not be a starter for us, he'd be a long-term project and his game time would be sporadic at first.

And once again, Real Madrid's "rejects" won the biggest tournament in club football last year under Mourinho, while Real with their "upgraded" starting 11 were bounced out by Lyon.

Van Der Vaart, another one tossed out of Real for no good reason, he's had no effect for Spurs has he?

Just coz a guy couldn't make it on one team, doesn;t mean the team he makes it on will be worse. Pique didn't make it at Man U, yet he plays for a better team now. Sneidjer was let go at Real, and won the CL with Inter.

Players are let go for many reasons (the guys ahead of him could be equally talented and more experienced) This does not negate that particular individuals talent. Whether we want to win the CL or not, we are not going to acquire the 1 best at every position. System, philosopphy, type of player, type of league, position of need e.t.c. ALl comes into play. If you are 4 deep at AM and 1 short at CD, dumping an AM to get a CD doesn't mean the AM sucks, just means you can succeed without a 4th guy. Similarly the team that picked up your AM doesn't suck either because they picked up your AM. Just means they had a need in that area that your guy helped.
