We battled away and managed to get into the game but too many of our players were not really at the races today. Not a terrible performance from us, but not a great one and you can't expect to get a result in Madrid without being on top of your game.

Vincent looked shaky all night and was culpable for 2 goals at least. Macon looked past it. The ball bounced off Silva like it usually doesn't. Tevez was busy and ok but ineffectual.

Anyway, it's progress and we are learning. Gutted though.

The experience should do us the world of good. Real are probably the second best team on the planet and gave them a proper game. Disappointed in our defending, Ronaldo wanted to cut in onto his right foot all the game and experienced pros should know how to handle that. The Arsenal game will be a real test of character now.

Nastasic. After watching him 5-10 minutes I was completely comfortable with him there. Plays a good pass and ridiculously composed. Imagine Savic in this position? He made some mistakes and may have been at fault for the 2nd goal but he's going to be an excellent addition going forward.

He deserves his own thread for tonight alone. For some reason it got merged somewhere I'll never find it.

Gutted and unlucky but overall we didn't deserve anything, outplayed for most of it and recurring problems in the defence and chaos when he goes 3 at the back.

Mancini has much to learn.

Nasri&Silva was useless in first half. Even Kolarov did more as a sub with his weak crosses than those two...

Mancini got many starting teams wrong in last years CL tonight again it wasnt the best. Hopefully he learns now and gets the right 11 against Dortmund.

Nastasic was good he had some mistakes but given how big pressure was on him and on his debut he played fairly good.
Seems a big improvement on Savic after one match.

Weekend: Arsenal, they are in huge form, won tonight too wont be any easy match.
