it says "Madchester City - Real Mancunians in The Area"

It's a reference to Mancunian pop culture in the late 80s - the "Madchester" era as the press called it.

The JAM MCs, House DJs from Konspiricy and loads of the big "Madchester" gigs used to shout out "Manchester Vibes in the area" and "in the area" became a bit of a catchphrase amongs the youth at the time.

that's why they've done the banner like that.

Cheers DD. A true fountain of knowledge!!

Didsbury Dave In The Area (pronounced in full on Mancunian "Ay-de-oh")

unfortunately Dave not everyone is as knowledgable as you so the away support will still ignorantly laugh their cocks off

1st game of next season we should cover it with flags
we? you're the only one who dosen't like it!

This sign is a fucking joke

I will be writing a letter to the club to get this taken down as it makes us look like the laughing stock of the league, no wonder we are easy targets to get the piss ripped.

I want you all to sign it
Yawn, me thinks someone trying to start the old ."Bluewatch" arguement, for what its worth i think the Trevor arms is shite and always full of rag's, i'll be writing a letter to get it removed and i want you all to sign it.

Dave, fancy meeting up in a warehouse near Rossendale at 3am tomorrow morning? I'll bring the whizz, you sort the Gary Abletts. I'm going to wear my new Chipie dungarees. Buzzin.

Each to their own and all that, but as far as banners go I don't think there's too much wrong with it. Suppose there's a tiny bit of cringeworthiness about it but that's about it. Certainly not as bad as the "Republik of Mancunia" banner over at The Swamp.

Speaking of banners, where the hell is the "Totally Wired" flag these days? Not seen it since the start of the season.

I agree, but if some people who pay to get into COMS want to have such a banner then good luck to them.

I think this is the banner:

Nothing wrong with it.
