Realistic starting 11 and squad for next season

Despite how fantastic our attacking options look, unless we manage to find a way to unlock a 7-3-0 formation, we'll be lucky to turn our losses from last season in to no more than draws.

It's possible that we're settling with 6 defenders as we could be using 3 at the back more this season.

~Goal~
Ederson
Bravo

~Defense~
Kompany
Stones
Mendy
Danilo
Walker
Otamendi

~Midfield~
Fernandinho
Toure
Gondungan
Silva
De Bruyne

~Attack~
Aguero
Gabriel Jesus
Sterling
Sane
Bernardo

If we're going to play 3 at the back we need a left footed centre back, or a right footer who is very comfortable on the left side such as VVD. Can't see Pep playing three right footed centre backs who are all much more comfortable playing on the right or in the middle.

Assuming Iheanacho, Bony, Nasri, Delph, Denayer and Fernando get sold, is this our best starting XI?

-------------Ederson-----------------

Walker---Kompany---Otamendi---Mendy--

---------Gundogan---D.Silva----------

----B.Silva---De Bruyne---Sane-------

--------------Aguero-----------------

Subs
Bravo
Danilo
Stones
Fernandinho
Y.Toure
Sterling
Jesus

Squad
Mangala
A.Garcia
Roberts

That's a 21 man squad with 16 non homegrown players, do we think we are going to bring in another striker?

We won't have a strongest XI. It will depend entirely on the team we're up against, how we're going to approach the game, whether it's home or away.

Bernardo's not going to play on the wing if we want the width and pace of Sterling, Gundgogan's not likely to be pivot against a mourinho team away from home. Stones will play when we want to focus on build up play.

Pep's trying to build a flexible squad of players, not a strong team of XI.

Also, Mangala, Roberts and Garcia are very unlikley to be involved.

I doubt that there will be one game where the team remains unchanged.

Dinausaur pundits will have a go, some blues may even join in, but the days of a starting 11 have gone.

I'm not sure we'll play three at the back very often against teams that park the bus - we might transition to three at the back, but one of them will be a midfielder...

I mean we didn't have the depth we have now but we chopped and changed nearly every game last season and we weren't very successful, until near the end where our team was more consistent as were our results.

Chelsea on the other hand kept the same 11 when possible and walked the league.
