You begin to see why Pep loves versatile players. Danilo/Fern/Yaya/B.Silva/Sanchez & Jesus could all cover more than 1 position, meaning a smaller squad with better quality.

The best squad in the country, Great mixture of youth and experience and technically world class with potential to win CL.

Still think it'll be aback 4 more often than a back 3. Once Silva, Bernardo and Gundogan can play, the formation will be similar to last season.

Yes, got to admit I was wrong about that. And I didn't know Danilo could play left wing back. I still expect us sign a lefty cb but good to know we've got other options

Looking at the proposed lineups, I reckon a few are forgetting just how good Gundogan is. Until his injury he was outstanding. Whereas I understand the excitement for our new crop of talent for the coming season & I'm looking forward to seeing them in the PL, if he regains the form he was showing before his injury, I reckon Ilkay will start a lot of games in the new season.

City need to play with 2 striker, especially if we do sign SANCHEZ!
we will be more deadly if playing with 2 striker upfront, cause of 4 thing;

1 - with 2 striker, pressing opponent's back 4 will be more effective.
2 - utilize Ederson/ De Bruyne long pass ability to start counter attack.
3 - link up play will be much better, more option to pass forward,
rather that sideway tippy tappy pass waiting for support or team mates making run.
4 - more body in the box, when someone crossing from the flank.

personally i like it more if Pep playing with 2 striker like the following formation.
later in the game, bring fresh legs and play pacy winger - Sane & Sterling, in usual 4-3-3 formation.
