How did I forget them? Brilliant band who will never make it unfortunately. Mona Lisa's Child is a tune and a half.

It is, the album version's' even better as well, longer and more atmospheric.

I think Keith's album was the last album I bought (I couldn't download it anywhere cos not many people seem to have it). They've called it a day now I think, which is a shame

I saw them in Platt Fields a couple of years ago and they were excellent but at the time I think they'd had to all get day jobs which I always think must be an absolute killer for lads who have been signed previously.

I saw Leon from Northern Uproar in a shirt and tie in Fallowfield around 1999. That was quite funny though actually. Sorry Leon if you're reading.

Spiritualized

Here's 'Broken Heart' off 'Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating in Space", one of the best albums ever made in my opinion.

For those that don't know, Jason Pierce (who basically IS Spiritualized) used to go out with Kate Radley who was the keyboardist in his band. Unfortunately, when they toured with The Verve, she ran off with Richard Ashcroft. She's now married to him.

This song, and the whole album, was recorded in the aftermath of this with Kate still in the band.

It's a masterpiece....

I forgot to mention. Pierce is a self-confessed hedonist with no drugs being off limits. When he says, "I'm wasted all the time" he fucking means it.

You're dead right, one of the best albums ever made. I bought Lazer Guided Melodies last month as I only had an old copy on vinyl - another classic album, almost forgot how good it was.

The artwork on the cover of Lazer Guided Melodies is what vinyl was made for.

If ever a cover suited an album it's that one.

I thought the Real People were often over looked, their album 'Whats on the Outside' was amazing and they made some class scally/psych/indie singles (open up your mind, window pane)

Richard Hawley is another one for me who is just amazing at what he does and his live shows are stunning. Really over looked, his albums never get the cred they deserve. This new on, 'True Loves Gutter' is epic.

Good call for Shack off a few posters. 'Natalie's Party' and 'Comedy' off HMS Fable are quality.

There was a band a few years back called Delays from Southampton. Their album 'Faded Seaside Glamour' was like The La's album. Class.

Also The Stands from Liverpool, folky rock, pop, psych, indie in 2003. Supported Oasis on a few tours. Never got any credit for the debut album, proper over looked band.

Great shout with The Real People. Good lads as well (for Scousers) and helped Oasis out loads when they were getting started.

Speaking of Scousers, anyone remember The Stairs? They were a bit weird.
