How did I forget them? Brilliant band who will never make it unfortunately. Mona Lisa's Child is a tune and a half.

also You is a quality tune are they still together?

It is, the album version's' even better as well, longer and more atmospheric.

I think Keith's album was the last album I bought (I couldn't download it anywhere cos not many people seem to have it). They've called it a day now I think, which is a shame

i know i just commented but i'm devestated they've split up Two quality albums

I thought the Real People were often over looked, their album 'Whats on the Outside' was amazing and they made some class scally/psych/indie singles (open up your mind, window pane)

Richard Hawley is another one for me who is just amazing at what he does and his live shows are stunning. Really over looked, his albums never get the cred they deserve. This new on, 'True Loves Gutter' is epic.

Good call for Shack off a few posters. 'Natalie's Party' and 'Comedy' off HMS Fable are quality.

There was a band a few years back called Delays from Southampton. Their album 'Faded Seaside Glamour' was like The La's album. Class.

Also The Stands from Liverpool, folky rock, pop, psych, indie in 2003. Supported Oasis on a few tours. Never got any credit for the debut album, proper over looked band.

The Stands awesome also The Bandits and The Basement alot of good scouse bands around at that time

-- Fri Aug 13, 2010 11:42 am --

saw Puressence do a live set in South nightclub last year(it was the same day of the last match of the season vs Bolton)
Very good they were

Mate, they are the unluckiest band on the planet, they've missed out on every major scene and their faces have never fit, but they are brilliant and exceptional live.

Their first album is up there with the best debuts but rarely gets mentioned in the all time best. If anyone hasn't heard it, I'd thoroughly recommend it and if you've never heard anything by them, listen to "Casting Lazy Shadows" or "This Feeling" to ease you in.
I'm sure I've seen Puressence supporting the Inspiral Carpets at the Apolo about 5 years ago. Thought they were excellent.

Also the Lo-Fi Allstars and Sundays have already been mentioned are indeed fantastic. My mates still look at me a bit weird when I ask them to check if there's any New Fast Automatic Dafodills on the jukebox.
