I was browsing YouTube clips of some of the players we've been linked with and came across the below clip of Ireland which shows what a talent this boy is.

I really hope he stays and performs to the level he did in the 2008/2009 season, if he does then we have a home grown World Class player in the mould of Lampard but with far greater technical ability.

Mancini hope you're reading mate :P

On his day he's among the best in the EPL. No doubt. But I hope the 'baggage' he carried this season is jettisoned and he has the same hunger, commitment, and end result of his player of the year season. We were short of Ireland's upside throughout last season. Had he performed in the same manner as 08-09, we would have murdered far more sides and we wouldn't have lost to the likes of Hull and drawn at home so many times.

He's a mercurial player, great technique, great vision - we need him performing at the top of his game. Come on Stevie!

im afraid the problem is ireland along with richards, ned,swp and a host of our other players is they are top six side players,so on occations look world beaters, and unfortunatley they are mostly the home grown players we so much want to be the heart beat of our great club.they are not it is becoming so increasingly obvious top four side players, and the difference of getting into the top two is different again. we have to accept that to get to the promised land we are going to have to replace our heros of the past .they will be replaced and we will move on.and hopfully in the not to distant future we will be able to stop needing to buy six or seven players each transfer window, and have a settled side, new long term heros will be in place.as we will have arrived at the top,

We have more than our share of talented nutjobs don't we?
Man management skills could save us a fortune in the transfer market. What do you reckon a guy like Cloughie or that fella in Stretford could do with SI, MR and Robinho?

Well if old whiskeynose cant get the best from berbaflop he certainly wouldnt get it from stevie Ireland.

1/4 of last season

= wow city is strong, but with ireland we would be immense.

2/4 of last season

= no creativity whatsoever, we need superman bad!

3/4 of last season

= ffs ireland! Can you put in more effort?

4/4 of last season

= *dont sub stevie in* *dont sub stevie in* *dont sub stevie in*

Im just overgeneralising last season, but that was how i felt. It came up to the point when an ireland on the field is one less fielded.

He is definitely one of the best players and deffo one of 5 greatest academy graduates but he seemed to not share the cause and project that is City anymore. I wish him well in his future club if his ask for transfer is true. If he does stays, i hope he realises that the fans' frustration is based on knowing that he can be a great player if he regained his form. And that needs some soulsearching.

He should do a spirit walk.....

Don't speak too soon about Berbatov, Sam. I predict a massive improvement from him next season.
Hope I'm wrong about that, though :)

my point exactly, all players in prem (ok 95%) are good players thats why there are pros in prem.the thing is all players have a point at which they cant get any better.thats why we have different levels of football.no manager can make me as good as messi, tevez, zidane etc ,and i played at a good standard, what a good manager does is find players they think can do it,and then bring it out of them, but how many fall short.manmanagement doesnt come into it.you can only have out of a player what hes programmed for.what you can get with manmagement is the best out of them.so going back to ireland etc they are good players ,but i suspect will never rule the world
