Really, really, really hope Ireland Stays

My problem is he isn't all there, and has been proven in the past.

He gave up the Ireland national side, now if he went back he could play against top quality players and improve and get that aspect, and it might teach him to grow up a bit.

It's clear to me Ireland will continue to go backwards until he sorts his head out. I think he needs to give up this fitness regime over the summer, I think it takes too much out of him and he wasn't fresh for the new season, couple of poor performances, confidence gone and bam he's back to square one.

I think he needs to listen to people like the manager, I think a nice long holiday somewhere away from football and just to chill, think about things, get his head in gear, come back to new signings at City, new start and build again.

I think another problem was the seeming reliance of Robinho & Ireland on each other, I think it's noticeable on the vid, if one played great the other did. Now when Elano left Robbie went off the boil and Ireland followed suit, and Stevie likes things to stay the same and things get to him easily, and when he's out of form he's simply a hindrance, as proved in the home derby when he didn't make the effort to track Scholes.

For me he's far from being world class, and unless he sorts his head out he'll be nowhere near. I think he had 1 good season buzzing off a great partnership with Robinho with intermittent spells with SWP and Elano.

Stevie has potential, we've seen it, but he needs to make that step because he won't ever get past that level of mid table team at best unless he does, I don't think any manager would coax it out of him 2bh, I think it's purely a Stevie problem that he needs to sort out himself.

On his day he's among the best in the EPL. No doubt. But I hope the 'baggage' he carried this season is jettisoned and he has the same hunger, commitment, and end result of his player of the year season. We were short of Ireland's upside throughout last season. Had he performed in the same manner as 08-09, we would have murdered far more sides and we wouldn't have lost to the likes of Hull and drawn at home so many times.

He's a mercurial player, great technique, great vision - we need him performing at the top of his game. Come on Stevie!

Exactly mate. We have our midfield genius right on our doorstep. We've seen him grow into a fantastic player over the years. For me personally its much more satisfying to see him be part of our future than some over paid foreign mercenary. Great video be the way.

I couldnt give a toss where our first 11 come from TBH, and i'm really not bothered how much they are paid, and I actually couldnt care less what their motives are - and whether they are foreign, English, Irish, how many miles from COMS they were born doesnt bother me.
What bothers me is if they play well or not, and Ireland hasnt played well enough for a year. Goodbye Stevie.

Ireland is a must hold onto player. Mancini and Ireland must have some sort of heart to heart as since Vieria came to the club Ireland has seen little football. Now Vieria did fuck all but was always picked when fit ahead of Ireland. Vieria was brought in to do the Barry job but we ended up playing with 3 defencsive midfielders in some games when a player like Ireland is needed. Also it seems to me that Barry is not on Irelands wavelenght when it comes to passing or trying to pick out a run for Ireland.

More games next year we need to hold onto this type of player I just hope that Mancini takes the same stance with the other midfield players who dont do it or has lost form. Dont forget next season we will see what players Mancini brings in and how he wants his team to play I hope it isnt as negative as it was at times. That negative play cost us a champions league spot if you ask me.

Last season when Robi and Stevie linked up we played some sick football.. I hope we can replicate that...

Robinho has a brilliant season last year yet everyone wants him to leave. Ireland has also only had one outstanding season for us so what's the difference?

Stevie Ireland will definitely leave.

But not because he jumped ship, because he feels he was forced out.

It will be a sad day for Manchester City when we lose one of our own.

I don't have any doubts he will prove his class wherever he goes.

It is going to hurt. But good luck to the lad. Whatever some of you say, he has City close to his heart. Sellling him will be a big mistake.

WTF would we want that empty headed chav for he aint no fabregas or sjneider wake up donkey brains time for him to go
