Really, really, really hope Ireland Stays

Such an overused topic that I avoid like the plague usually, but thought I'd dip my toes in the water this time.

Unlike the our other home grown lads who look less likely to be top players, Ireland does have it all.

But if he doesn't have consistency and drive, he worth fuck all... he's a hinderence.

I'd like him to stay, but only because we don't need the money and there's no reason why he can't come good again. Another season like last and his value will have fallen back to pre-superman era levels.

We have more than our share of talented nutjobs don't we?
Man management skills could save us a fortune in the transfer market. What do you reckon a guy like Cloughie or that fella in Stretford could do with SI, MR and Robinho?
If bacon face was that good he would be picking up youngsters all over the place, like Wenger, and turning them into world beaters. From my point of view, our youth team has outdone theirs by a long, long margin over the last 5/10 years. However, he did spot a lot of young talent in Rooney, Ferdinand, Carrick, Hargreaves, and picked them up for a song!!! Bollocks......

I got told last week by someone in his circles that he can't stand a few of his fellow pro's and the feeling is mutual. I think Ireland is away to a new club if this is really the issue.

Would love to see him back to his best in a blue shirt, he's certainly got the ability but I get the feeling he just isn't up to the challenge.

So do i .......

despite the season he's had , he's too good a player to lose.

How can he want to leave City, the biggest club in the world (soon!)? Sounds like Mancini's tried hard to convince him to stay but he's not having it.

Hughes was the greatest thing since sliced bread when he was playing well. When Hughes left, Hughes had been shackling him. How does he expect to get picked if he's injured and on coming back plays rubbish?

One thing I like about Mancini is that he gives players every chance. He told Robinho things could be different after his loan spell giving him a door back. Not his fault Robinho's such a knob. Stephen - I always want to play for City - Ireland doesn't want to hear about how he could be part of the set-up. The crybaby.

Well if old whiskeynose cant get the best from berbaflop he certainly wouldnt get it from stevie Ireland.
my point exactly, all players in prem (ok 95%) are good players thats why there are pros in prem.the thing is all players have a point at which they cant get any better.thats why we have different levels of football.no manager can make me as good as messi, tevez, zidane etc ,and i played at a good standard, what a good manager does is find players they think can do it,and then bring it out of them, but how many fall short.manmanagement doesnt come into it.you can only have out of a player what hes programmed for.what you can get with manmagement is the best out of them.so going back to ireland etc they are good players ,but i suspect will never rule the world

Kevin Keegan was never that talented a player, yet he was European player of the year twice. What they went on about when he won it was his work-rate, commitment etc. Gary Birtles looked a great player under Cloughie. When he went to United he was rubbish.
Cloughie got it out of him. Ireland has got the talent to get to the top of the pile. He either lacks the desire or the guts. He'll join the ranks of the Collymores and Robinhos.
