As I said its unlikely to happen but steps should have put into place to make it happen over the past 4 windows at least.

Easy , the club will be intact no matter who is playing next season its in reasonable hands although we need to improve in a lot of areas both on and off the field in the future and we will as good people always learn from their mistakes.

I follow Man City like you , the players come secondary.

Will you really rear up your ticket or stop following them if we ship out those that have had their time at the club and yes some big names as such.

I won't so maybe it would be easier if you looked at reality and ask your self who at this club can still contribute meaningfully to our first Chumps League title and a way of playing that is better equipped to handle the premiership and its changing needs.

Ranieri did this year wellat least better than the others but if you think the same side will be competitive in Europe or at home next season without massive investment and good investment at that you are deluding yourself.

Same with us even though we need a lot more for what we have planned in the coming years.

Pep doesn't have a magic wand , he will need much better quality that what we have to take the next step the hardest step in our history.
 
How is the club in "reasonable hands" if the steps that "should have" been put in place "over the last four seasons at least" weren't implemented? Seems to me our executives and owners must be shite. Apparently all they've been good for is (finally) attracting and paying the managerial savior who (as you say) doesn't have a magic wand.

But maybe some of the players whom you wouldn't care left might be better under Pep. Maybe hurt players do no good when they're not playing. Unless my math is wrong, a whole lot more clubs are out of CL than are currently in it, and we're one of only what-will-be 8 that are in it, playing as poorly as we have.

I'm not trying to be insulting, but I actually believe you don't follow the club -- I think you follow some idealized version of the club as you either hoped or expected it would be, and are massively disappointed, and the only panacea is to press the reset button. I'm disappointed too, and there will be changes, but effectively you are saying there isn't a single player on the side you wouldn't be surprised by -- or arsed by -- moving on.

Thing is, to make the wholesale massive changes you suggest/expect you also assume that their replacements are available, affordable, want to come to City, will be far more successful than those they replace, and that this can all be done in two seasons. So maybe you do think Pep has a magic wand.

Personally, I'm with those who think that tactics, injuries and better competition have had a lot more to do with this season's disappointments than that none of the players on the team are any good anymore.

4 windows not 4 seasons if you chose to read , we have made mistakes but as I said we will get better because we are run by good people and like all successful people they make the changes when needed.

We lost to Juventus twice , we are well down the pecking order and Pep is the start of that journey to the top.

I follow the club like you do , I just know major changes on and off the field are required.

Pep is only the start of it , it takes time , learning from your mistakes etc.

Most would agree we need at least 6 players not even at the club yet to come in and be part of the nucleus during Peps reign.

Nobody at the club now or at least in the starting first choice eleven will be hear when we win our first Chumps League because we are still a number of years away from that feat.

It would be great if we achieved it under Pep but he is the start of the new era , its not a sprint , its a journey.

I am not surprised at all at where we are this year its logical to assume it would happen given last year and given who we bought in.

Our spine has run its course , the sooner you realise it the better you will equipped to handle the ups and downs to come.

Better competiton this year ?

A championship side run well with one decent scout , a youngish side and a record low points tally unless Leicester keep on winning to bag the title.

The premiership this year has been a disgrace , we, Chelsea , Manure , Liverpool , Arsenal , even Spurs have been woeful in the main.

Look at Europe , even the sides like Dortmund would have all of the above by the balls.

We should lose a spot in next years Chumps League if form was the indicator over the past few seasons.

All opinions in the end , lets see what next year brings because it has to better than the rubbish we have dished out this year and I really mean rubbish that isn't even entertaining to watch anymore.
 
Hopefully, this season is the last remnants of FFP and at the end of this season the club can re-engage with its main missions.
Maybe UEFA need to man up a bit, too.
 
He must be wondering what he has let himself in for.

The easiest way to remedy it would be to keep Kun and a 5/6 others as back up and then offer £500m for 10 of Bayerns side.

Problem solved.

Ok they weren't world beaters, but they were replacing what we had. Not great to say this, but it's that time again. Kun, Kompany, Silver, Yaya are injury prone or just tired at this level. Don't be surprised if Pep makes some off the wall decisions by moving out all of these players for the future of our club. I think personally he will. Hurtful to us as fans or not. Me on the other hand, I think I'll man up and trust him and not winge over what was.

Can't understand the hate for Clichy. He has been superb this season and in particular this last year. Not many better than him.
